Kurdish Political Prisoner Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou was Executed in Secret
@kampainhr
Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou, an Iraniana Kurd political prisoner, was secretly executed.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the death sentence of Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou, a Kurdish political prisoner from Chaldoran, was carried out in secret. This occurred after six days of silence and a sit-in protest by his family in front of Urmia Prison demanding clarity on their son’s condition and protesting the death sentence.
The government-affiliated Fars News Agency reported on Monday, April 21, 2025, quoting “relevant authorities in West Azerbaijan Province,” that the execution had taken place.
This Kurdish political prisoner had been transferred to solitary confinement on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, for the implementation of his death sentence. His family had been informed to come to Urmia Prison for a final visit.
Hamid Hosseinnezhad was arrested on April 12, 2023, at the Chaldoran border by border security forces and taken to the detention center of the Urmia Intelligence Department. He was held there for 11 months and 10 days, subjected to severe psychological and physical torture in an effort to extract forced confessions about involvement in armed conflict between Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) forces and border guards. He was coerced into signing pre-written statements prepared by intelligence interrogators.
In mid-July 2024, Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Urmia, presided over by Judge Najafzadeh, sentenced Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou to death on the charge of “rebellion” (baghi) through alleged membership in the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). The sentence was issued without sufficient evidence and based solely on the judge’s personal conviction, following a trial that lasted only a few minutes.

Execution of Mojahed (Abbas) Korkor
@kampainhr
The death sentence of Mojahed Korkor was carried out in Sheyban Prison in Ahvaz.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, state media reported on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, that the execution of Mojahed Korkor—one of the detainees from the Woman, Life, Freedom uprising—had been carried out.
According to these reports, Mr. Korkor had been sentenced to three counts of the death penalty by Ahvaz Revolutionary Court, and Iran Supreme Court upheld the verdicts. The charges included: “moharebeh” (waging war against God) through brandishing a weapon with the intent to kill and intimidate the public, “corruption on Earth” by committing a crime using firearms, and forming and joining an armed insurgent group.
Previously, the judiciary had claimed that Abbas Korkor was involved in the murder of Kian Pirfalak, the child killed during the nationwide protests on November 16, 2022, in Izeh. This accusation was explicitly denied by the Pirfalak family. Kian’s mother had previously stated: “On our way home, the security forces fired at our car.”
The execution of Abbas Korkor took place despite widespread ambiguities and contradictions in his case and the judicial process. Human rights activists have pointed to the lack of transparency in the trial, absence of an independent lawyer, and reports of coercion and pressure during interrogation and trial.
Mojahed Korkor was wounded and arrested on December 20, 2022, during an armed raid by IRGC forces on the village of Pursurakh in Izeh County. During the same raid, two other young protesters—Mahmoud Ahmadi and Hossein Saeedi—were killed by IRGC gunfire.

Rezgar Beigzadeh Babamiri, Kurdish Political Prisoner, Sentenced to Death
@kampainhr
Rezgar Beigzadeh Babamiri, a Kurdish political prisoner, has been sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court in Urmia.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Zino Beigzadeh Babamiri, daughter of Rezgar Beigzadeh Babamiri, a political prisoner from Bukan held in Urmia Prison, reported the issuance of her father’s death sentence.
Rezgar Beigzadeh Babamiri, 47 years old and a native of Bukan, was arrested on April 17, 2023, near the village of Tekan-Tappeh, allegedly for providing and delivering medicine and aid to the wounded during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement. He was recently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court in Urmia.
This sentence was issued despite repeated warnings from his daughter, Zino, in media interviews, where she emphasized that her father was at risk of receiving the death penalty based on fabricated charges, coerced confessions obtained under psychological torture, and prolonged solitary confinement, all without any credible evidence to support the accusations.
