Continued Critical Condition of Women's Rights Activist Sara Jahani; Denied Adequate Medical Care in Lakan Prison, Rasht

#Sara_Jahani, a women’s rights activist suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS), remains imprisoned in Lakan Prison, Rasht, and despite her deteriorating health, she continues to be denied access to adequate medical care and transfer to medical facilities.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, recent reports indicate that Ms. Jahani has experienced muscle spasms and has fallen in prison due to the worsening of her illness and lack of medical attention.

This women’s rights activist was initially arrested on August 16, 2023, and was later released on bail. However, she was re-arrested on July 29, 2024, to serve her sentence in Lakan Prison, Rasht.
