Today, I am in Budapest, where I participated in a Sukkot celebration with Andor Grósz, the President of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish communities. Together we paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust.

I also met with the special envoy for combating antisemitism and EU Affairs minister, János Bóka to discuss the security of Jewish communities in the EU.

With Interior Minister Sándor Pintér, I discussed internal security and the EU’s migration priorities, such as the returns regulation, and our response to hybrid threats.

Sicherheit und Migration standen ganz oben auf der Agenda. Wir arbeiten gemeinsam an Lösungen – regional, national und europäisch.

Today, the @Europarl_EN voted on the establishment of the EU Talent Pool.

With it, we bring together job vacancies from employers with applicants from non-EU countries.

This is part of our EU strategy to better manage migration and make Europe more competitive.
The transatlantic relationship is evolving. And both sides of the Atlantic face similar challenges - to manage migration and harness talent, to ensure security for people and businesses, to responsibly develop artificial intelligence and to satisfy energy needs.
Today marks a major milestone in European border security as the EES becomes fully operational across all Schengen countries. It is the world’s most advanced IT border system, collects biometric data and travel data of non-EU nationals, replacing traditional passport stamping.
It’s great to participate online at today’s #WakeUpSpain organized by @elespanolcom. I shared @EU_Commission actions in getting our house in order. Protecting European citizens has never been more complex and Spain has always been a vital partner in making that possible.

Strengthening our collective security. Yesterday at the JHA in Dublin. Without Security there is no prosperity, no democracy and no freedom.
Die EU steht in voller Solidarität und Unterstützung an der Seite Deutschlands nach dem Anschlag auf den Flughafen Leipzig. Wir haben bereits entschlossen auf Russlands hybride Angriffe reagiert.
I had a good phone call with Minister Grande-Marlaska on the evolving situation in Ceuta. He updated me on Spain’s response and the next steps concerning the return of those who remain illegally, as well as efforts to improve security on the ground.
