💟Selective beta2 agonists💟

☪Short-acting beta2 agonists (SABAs) .such as:
salbutamol or terbutaline➡️Because of their rapid onset of action, they are considered the first choice for the treatment of acute asthmatic attack and other conditions associated with airways obstruction.

📍Inhaled SABAs are given ‘as required’ and NOT as Regular treatment .

☪Long-acting beta2 agonists.such as:

1⃣ Formoterol
2⃣ salmeterol
they are taken regularly as prophylaxis for chronic asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

⛱⛱Inhaled corticosteroid ⛱⛱

(e.g. Beclomethasone Dipropionate)

🏜An inhaled corticosteroid is used regularly for prophylaxis of asthma.

🏜They are ineffective for acute asthmatic attack.

Some products contain a combination of inhaled corticosteroid and long acting beta2 agonist e.g. Symbicort ® turbohaler (budesonide with formoterol)

📛Theophylline📛
is a bronchodilator used in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease .

🛳 Theophylline is given by injection as aminophylline. Aminophylline injection must be given by very slow intravenous injection (over at least 20 minutes).

🛳The use of sustained release formulation of theophylline (phyllocontine®) is preferred over ordinary tablet (immediate release tablet) and it is usually given twice daily and the sustained release tablet should not be splinted or crushed.

هل تعاني من الصداع و الدوار في منتصف دوامك الجامعي أو بعد مرور بضع ساعات على بدئك لعملك؟🤕🤕


⏪⏪لعل أشيع الأسباب التي تؤدي الى الاصابة بالصداع و الدوار اثناء العمل المكتبي أو لدى طلاب الجامعات هو عدم شرب الكفاية من الماء. فالنموذج التقليدي للطالب الجامعي أو العامل المكتبي هو الاستيقاظ مبكراً, نسيان وجبة الفطور, شرب القهوة و التوجه الى الجامعة و الانشغال بالمحاضرات دون الانتباه الى شرب الماء و بالتالي يصاب الطالب أو العامل بالدوار, التعب و الصداع لدى البعض.
أعراض التجفاف الاخرى⏺
- تشقق البشرة.
- العطش.
- الخمول.
- الإمساك.
للتغلب على هذه الأعراض ننصح بشرب كوب ماء كل ساعة أو ساعتين (بحسب توفر الماء) و عدم الافراط في شرب القهوة فمع أنها تساعد في تنشيطك و تخليصك من النعاس و الخمول, الا أنها لن تحل مشكلة التجفاف لديك.

⛺️Sedating antihistamines😴😴: older antihistamines that are associated with troublesome sedative and antimuscarinic effects. Example are: 1⃣chlorphenamine(chlorpheniarmine) maleate.
2⃣clemastine.
3⃣ cyproheptadine.
4⃣ketotifen.
5⃣diphenhydramine and dimethindene maleate .
Drowsiness is a major problem with the sedating antihistamines and those affected should🚭 not drive or operate machinery .

⛺️Non-sedating antihistamines😍: are newer antihistamines, they generally cause little or no drowsiness . Example are:
1⃣cetirizine,
2⃣levocetirizine
3⃣ loratadine .
4⃣desloratadine, fexofenadine.

🍊 Cough suppressants (antitussive): like :
🍈Codeine
🍈 dextromethorphan
are used for dry cough.

🍊 Expectorants
e.g.
🍈Glyceryl guaiacolate also called Guaifenesin
🍈 Mucolytics (e.g. Bromohexine ):
which are used for wet cough.

🍊Commonly, cough preparations contain a combination of
