Das ist auch der Datensatz, den Melms et al. 2021 nutzten (Nature 2021): 19 Autopsie-Fälle, alle verstorben, alle aus der sehr frühen Pandemiephase 2020 (Wildtyp-Stamm, vor jeder Variante, vor jeder Impfung), plus 7 Kontrollen. Sprich: Der Baustein, der "SARS-CoV-2-Infektion → AT2-ET-1-Hochregulation" für den gesamten Rest des Papers begründet, kommt aus einer Kohorte, die (a) ausschließlich tödliche Akutfälle abbildet, (b) aus der frühesten, unvariantesten, ungeimpften Pandemiewelle stammt, und damit demografisch/klinisch ziemlich weit weg ist von den mild/moderat erkrankten, überlebenden, oft geimpften Post-COVID-Patienten, für die am Ende "klinische Relevanz" postuliert wird. Das wird im Paper selbst an keiner Stelle als Limitation benannt:

Zusammenfassung: Das ist eine mechanistisch interessante Hypothese, aufgebaut auf einem Fundament aus (1) einer nicht-generalisierbaren Autopsie-Kohorte mit 100% Komorbiditätslast aus der "tödlichsten"™, frühesten Pandemiephase, (2) supraphysiologischen Dosierungen, (3) Pseudovirus/isoliertem Spike statt authentischer Infektion, (4) einem Hamster-Modell mit bekannt labiler Eisenphysiologie, (5) einer "Rescue"-Evidenz, die durch systemische Gabe und gleichzeitige Viruslastreduktion konfundiert ist, und (6) Korrelationen, die über gepoolte, klar getrennte Gruppen berechnet wurden. "Mehr Schein als Sein" trifft's ziemlich gut.
