France's National Assembly votes against Vaccine Passports with a small margin, but it's only the first reading in #France.

The deputies rejected article 1 by 108 votes against 103.

They're going to push for a *second reading* at the Assembly.

Let's hope they maintain the slim margin, the digital brown envelopes will start circulating to reverse this, but if France votes against it's a serious setback for the EU's Green Certificate.

In a televised address on Monday, Macron announced that coronavirus vaccinations will be mandatory for healthcare workers in France, and a “health pass” proving vaccination status, or a negative test for Covid-19, will be necessary to board a train or visit restaurants, theaters, bars and cinemas from August. All French people over 12 years old will need a pass....

Covid vaccinations for the general population will not be mandatory in the near future, but Macron did not take the option off the table. If inoculation rates do not pick up, the president warned that he will “ask the question of compulsory vaccination for all French people.”

Additionally, while a negative PCR test will be sufficient for obtaining a “health pass,” Macron said that the government will no longer hand out free Covid tests from autumn onwards.

WILL THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE RESPOND TO FRANCE'S PUSH TOWARD MANDATORY VACCINATION?

In 1997 the Council of Europe issued a declaration, under a lengthy title: Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Dignity of the Human Being with regard to the Application of Biology and Medicine: Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine. Chapter II, “Consent,” Article 5, “General Rule,” stands out as especially relevant: “An intervention in the health field may only be carried out after the person concerned has given free and informed consent to it”. Note that this does not entertain the debate over whether “experimental” vs. “investigational” should be the appropriate term. It simply refers to any “intervention” in the health field, regardless of the label one uses for that intervention.

In addition Article 5 states: “This person shall beforehand be given appropriate information as to the purpose and nature of the intervention as well as on its consequences and risks”. While we certainly are aware of the purpose of the intervention in the case of injections to counter Covid-19, clearly not many understand the nature of the injectables, nor are all of the consequences and risks known yet—therefore, informed consent for any injection, no matter how seemingly voluntary, can be said to have been “informed” because not all of the information is yet known or made public. Under such conditions, no informed consent has been possible, for any anyone.

Article 5 also adds: “The person concerned may freely withdraw consent at any time”—thus any mandatory vaccination campaign would be a violation, since it removes the right to withdraw consent.

‘Freedom Convoys’ gaining steam across Europe – reports
Inspired by the Canadian movement, truckers in Europe are planning to import the protest by driving to national capitals before “converging” on Brussels

Truckers in France are reportedly planning to emulate the Canadian ‘Freedom Convoy’ by mobilizing groups of big rigs to protest vaccine mandates and other Covid-19 restrictions set by Paris. According to a BFM TV report, demonstrators plan to “paralyze” the French capital next week before joining a wider “European convergence” in Brussels.

The outlet reported that a leaflet announcing the ‘Freedom Convoy France’ has been circulated on social media networks, calling on “citizens” to “recover their freedom, their fundamental rights, unconditional access to care, education, and culture, respect for the essential values of our Constitution.” It also noted that the truckers in “Canada [had] paved the way for us.”

After final preparations on Monday and Tuesday, the convoy will set off in three waves from across France – with those furthest from Paris setting off on Wednesday, according to an itinerary on the leaflet. All three waves are expected to reach the national capital Friday evening. On Sunday, the convoy is slated to leave and “join our European friends” in Brussels.
