In addition to the usual gifts, version 11.2 of Telegram introduced two "limited" gifts, released in limited quantities:
🍭 — 500,000 lollipops priced at 15 stars each;
🌸 — 100,000 cherry blossoms priced at 25 stars each.
The total value of the entire offering of these two gifts amounted to 10 million stars, which is around $150,000 based on the exchange rate on Fragment.
In the announcement, Pavel Durov mentioned that this year Telegram will introduce the ability to convert limited-edition gifts into NFTs based on TON: users will be able to auction and trade these tokenized gifts outside of Telegram.
After this, the limited gifts were completely sold out within a few hours.
Once users have bought all the "limited" gifts, they will no longer be available to send. Those who received them will have unique gifts, at least until they decide to exchange them for "stars". This way, users can collect gifts marked as "limited".

Gift Privacy Settings
A new privacy setting has become available to Telegram users: “Who can display gifts on my profile”.
Gifts from those users and Mini Apps that are allowed to send such gifts will be automatically published in the recipient's profile. And if a gift is sent by user who is not allowed to do so, then this gift will only be displayed in the chat with the giver, and will not be published in the profile.
Additionally, we note that the recipient of the gift in all cases can manually change the visibility of the received gift in their profile: both hide a previously published gift and publish a hidden one.

Converting Gifts to NFTs is in The Upcoming Update
Strings related to converting gifts to NFTs have been found in the Telegram source code for Android. Users will be able to convert gifts into unique collectibles. They will probably have to pay for this operation with stars.
Collectibles can be:
• Sent to other users within Telegram.
• Sold for stars within Telegram.
• Sent to external blockchain addresses for sale on third-party NFT platforms (after the “unlock” period).
Collectibles will have attributes typical of NFTs:
• Unique number.
• Model.
• Background.
• Symbol.
• Information about origin (who gave it and when).
It is important to note that all information is based on lines of code from the application, so these features may undergo significant changes before release.

How To Upgrade a Gift to a Collectible Gift and Convert It to an NFT
What can be upgraded?
There are currently 72 gifts available in Telegram. Of these, 61 gifts are limited. Of the limited gifts, 21 can now be upgraded to collectibles.
According to Pavel Durov, the list of gifts available to upgrade will be supplemented by at least 25 more limited-edition gifts.

4. When upgrading, you can choose to leave a link to the sender's profile with their comment or hide this information.
What happens after upgrading?
An upgraded gift gets unique characteristics:
• Unique serial number;
• Gift model;
• Background patterns;
• Background color.
These features are randomly generated, and their rarity is determined by the percentage chance of dropping. The lower the probability of a particular feature appearing, the more unique the gift becomes.
Important to know:
• You cannot upgrade a gift again.
• If you have not hidden the author and comment on the gift, then it will be impossible to change this in the future.
• A message will be sent to your dialogue with the sender stating that you have upgraded the gift, including all its new features.
How to convert a gift into an NFT?
An upgraded gift can be converted into an NFT on the TON blockchain, but only 21 days after the upgrade.
Timer features: If an upgraded gift was sent or received again, the timer is reset to 21 days.
For example, your friend upgraded a gift 11 days ago and gave it to you. To convert it into an NFT, you will have to wait 21 days from the moment of receipt.
What's next?
After conversion, the gift will be sent to your non-custodial wallet. You will be able to sell it through marketplaces: for example, Fragment.com and others, and also use it at your discretion.

Some Telegram users have received notifications from the official Telegram account stating that their Stars, gifts, and Premium subscriptions have been revoked.
This action occurs when senders gift items to other users and later initiate chargebacks — likely through their bank. As a result, the funds are returned to the sender, and the gifted items or subscriptions are revoked from the recipient.
The @tginfo editorial team has no information on what happens if recipients have already spent the Stars by the time the revocation occurs.

A scam is spreading on Telegram involving the theft of NFT gifts by connecting a business chatbot to the victim's account.
How the scheme works:

Users of Telegram Beta for Android 11.11.0 (5922) now can list their unique gifts for sale. To do this, simply open one of your collectible gifts, tap the “Resell” button, and set your desired price.
When you list a gift, other users will be able to see it and purchase it at the price you've set. You'll receive 80% of the sale price, with the remaining 20% going to Telegram as a fee.
To remove a gift from sale, open it and tap the “Unlist” button.
Currently, this feature is only operational on the test server.
