Reactions on behalf of channels

Now, on behalf of your public channels, you can not only send messages to public groups but also leave reactions under them, as well as participate in polls.

To act on behalf of a channel, select a channel you own to the left of the message input line. When a channel is selected, all reactions and votes will be sent on behalf of that channel.

You cannot mix reactions on your behalf and your channels. For example, if you first put a reaction on your behalf, and then the second on behalf of the channel, then the first reaction will change its author to the channel.

Reactions on behalf of chats are also available, but only for the chat creator. To do this, the chat owner must give himself the right to anonymity, then he will be able not only to leave anonymous messages but also to put anonymous reactions.

@tginfo noticed Telegram Premium giveaways functionality added to Fragment.com's codebase. The change was detected thanks to @tgcrawl's automated analysis. Earlier we've already reported about this feature surfacing in Telegram for macOS localization files.

The Fragment platform is considered to be Telegram's partner, designated to provide an option to buy Telegram's Premium subscription, usernames, and anonymous numbers using TON cryptocurrency. All the services can be paid for using QR codes, which are supposed to be scanned in the Tonkeeper wallet.

Telegram Premium has almost 3.5 million subscribers

In Pavel Durov's latest blog post, while discussing the updates, he mentioned the number of Telegram Premium subscribers, which is "almost 3.5 million".

Based on previous statements from the messenger, Telegram actively engages with 800 million monthly users, providing an approximate estimate of the Premium user base at 0.4% or roughly one in every 233 users.

In December, 2022, we reported that Telegram reached 1 million Premium subscribers. So, in just under a year, the messenger has managed to attract an additional 2.5 million Premium users.

Pavel Durov just announced that Telegram Premium, launched less than a year and a half ago, has become the fastest-growing paid subscription in the history of messaging applications.

The number of Premium subscribers has doubled in just 5 months and quadrupled in the last 12 months. Today it exceeded 4 million users.

In December 2022, we reported that Telegram reached the milestone of 1 million Premium subscribers, and in October 2023, the subscription was confirmed to have 3.5 million people worldwide.

Premium Subscribers Can Now More Easily Hide Their Last Seen Time

Since today, Telegram Premium subscribers who choose to hide their last seen time will be able to see the last seen time of users who have not hidden it.

Please note: you will only see the last seen time of another user if they have not hidden their online from you. Having a Telegram Premium subscription does not allow you to bypass other users' privacy settings.

Reminder: before, if you hid your online status from another user, you lost the ability to see their last seen time, even if they didn't hide it from you.
