A Global Acceleration Program Comes to Armenia! ๐
The Ministry of High-Tech Industry starts a collaboration with Plug and Play.
In the scope of collaboration a 26-week program will be launched to empower Armenian startups. This program will offer consultation services, capacity building, business development, innovation support, and one-on-one mentoring.
Notably, Plug and Play's investment fund previously invested in a number of startups with Armenian founders such as Aarki (exited to Skills), SuperAnnotate and ModicusPrime.
Glad to see that the initiative started by the previous leadership of the ministry was successfully continued and implemented by the new leadership team.

The long-term collaboration with Plug and Play aims to ensure stable growth and development of Armeniaโs startup ecosystem. Over the next three years, Plug and Play will establish a permanent branch in Armenia to run incubation, pre-acceleration, and acceleration programs, paving the way for our innovators to compete globally.

Some observations:
โข Armenia remains one of the strongest startup ecosystems in the region on a per-capita basis
โข The ecosystem still grew strongly (+16.2%) โ above much of Europe
โข Armenia continues outperforming larger regional economies like Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan
Armenia grew โonlyโ +16.2%. This indicates Armenia may be entering a more mature phase while regional competitors are entering earlier acceleration cycles.
But there are also important signals:
โข Georgia (+78%), Moldova (+91.9%), and Uzbekistan (+227%) are accelerating very fast
โข The regional startup landscape is becoming significantly more competitive

Armenia's global position slipped one position compared to the previous year's report but, the ecosystem itself still grew at a healthy pace (+16.2%), which is above Europeโs average growth (+7.3%) and above many mature ecosystems in Western Europe.
Among former Soviet republics, Armenia ranks 6th following Baltics, Russia and Ukraine:

Some observations:
โข Armenia remains one of the strongest startup ecosystems in the region on a per-capita basis
โข The ecosystem still grew strongly (+16.2%) โ above much of Europe
โข Armenia continues outperforming larger regional economies like Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan
Armenia grew โonlyโ +16.2%. This indicates Armenia may be entering a more mature phase while regional competitors are entering earlier acceleration cycles.
But there are also important signals:
โข Georgia (+78%), Moldova (+91.9%), and Uzbekistan (+227%) are accelerating very fast
โข The regional startup landscape is becoming significantly more competitive
