The first results are starting to come in from the Icelandic referendum on resuming EU accession negotiations.
After 15% of the votes have been counted, 51.5% are in favor and 48.5% are against.
The votes counted so far are from the capital. Earlier, when the capital's votes weren't included, about 60% were against, but that's still only a small portion of the votes. Nothing is known for now.

WINNETKA, Illinois
Limestone blocks on a Green Bay Rd building collapsed on Thurs afternoon, crashing onto the sidewalk below, according to the Village of Winnetka.
The Village reported on SM that no one was injured in the incident, the cause of which reportedly is under investigation.
The incident reportedly occurred bw 3:30-4 p.m. at 924 Green Bay Rd, a building that houses the restaurant Spirit Elephant, which was closed at the time.
The falling blocks, which were about 15-20 feet off the ground, ripped down a portion of the restaurantโs awning and shattered multiple front windows.

While I appreciate his intention, he's wrong. If we can't different between what is usual and unusual because someone on Twitter might take it wrong, it lets the tail wag the dog.

5 E-6s active at once is not unusual. Twice in a week is, however there have been indications of some kind of prolonged STRATCOM related exercise for the last couple of weeks.
On the 21st, an E-6 met up with two E-4s over Nashville for a loop around the Mid-South before carrying on.

My warning for the region of Turkey remains in effect throughout September. I issued it a few days ago due to its numerical configuration related to the historic Kahramanmaraล earthquake of 1114. Remember that this region already suffered a strong and devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 2023. Now, all of Turkey must remain vigilant for the possibility of significant earthquakes. SOMETHING DANGEROUS JUST CAME DOWN MOUNT MERAPI
Mount Merapi unleashed a dangerous burst of activity in Indonesia today.
A pyroclastic flow surged roughly 2 kilometers down the southwestern side of the volcano, carrying superheated gas, ash and volcanic debris down the slope.
And it came after nine lava avalanches had already been recorded earlier in the morning, some traveling as far as 2 kilometers from the crater.
Merapi remains at Alert Level III, with hazardous zones extending along several river corridors where additional pyroclastic flows and lava avalanches could travel.
But the danger isnโt limited to what comes directly out of the crater.
If heavy rain moves over Merapi, loose volcanic material already covering its slopes can be swept into river valleys below, creating dangerous lahars that can travel downstream.
