HUMANITY AT THE CROSSROADS 🧬🤖

In the AI era, building more powerful machines raises a deeper question: How powerful can humanity become?

My vision centers on two radical paths:

1️⃣ BECOME ONE OF THEM
Merge human and machine intelligence. Connect our brains with computation, expand memory and reasoning, and explore synthetic bodies that could carry human identity beyond biological limits.

2️⃣ BECOME BIOLOGICALLY OR PHYSICALLY INDESTRUCTIBLE
Advance biophysics, regenerative medicine, and human enhancement. Pursue bodies that repair themselves, resist disease and degeneration, withstand physical damage, and protect the mind.

Mind uploading and literal indestructibility remain speculative goals. Turning this vision into reality would require extraordinary discoveries—and preserving identity, autonomy, and consciousness throughout the transformation.

We should bring the same ambition to strengthening humanity that we bring to developing AI.

Human identity. Human agency. Human survival.

We cannot assume we have unlimited time to prepare for intelligence greater than our own.

My vision is clear: make human advancement a central priority. Invest in biotechnology, neuroscience, and biophysics to develop stronger minds, more resilient bodies, and greater human independence.

By “superhumans,” I mean people with expanded capabilities: better learning and memory, improved tissue repair, greater resistance to disease, and longer healthy lives. These are research ambitions, with different levels of feasibility—not a package science has already delivered.

If we devote enormous resources to expanding machine capabilities, we should bring comparable ambition to advancing humanity.

But stronger bodies alone will not preserve our freedom. We also need the knowledge, institutions, and practical authority to challenge and control the systems we build. Human enhancement must complement AI safety and accountable governance.

No one knows a deadline for losing control, and enhancement cannot guarantee protection. That uncertainty is a reason to prepare thoughtfully.

The future we build should make humans more capable of shaping their own destiny.

Advance humanity. Preserve human agency.

🧬 Biotechnology is changing how we fight disease—and opening new possibilities for human health.

Four advances from September 2026:

🔬 ONE MEDICINE, TWO GENE TARGETS
Arrowhead’s experimental ARO-DIMER-PA suppresses PCSK9 and APOC3 together. Early results reported mean maximum reductions of 54% in LDL cholesterol and 73% in triglycerides after one dose. Whether it prevents heart attacks or strokes remains unproven.

🛡️ REACTIVATING IMMUNITY AGAINST CANCER
In 87 patients with previously treated metastatic squamous lung cancer, gotistobart produced median survival of 18.5 months versus 10 months with chemotherapy. These encouraging results still need confirmation in the pivotal portion of the trial.

💪 TARGETING MUSCLE LOSS
The FDA approved Isembyld for spinal muscular atrophy in patients aged 2+ receiving SMN2-targeted treatment. It blocks activation of myostatin—a natural brake on muscle growth—and demonstrated improved motor function.

⏳ INVESTIGATING BIOLOGICAL AGING
An analysis of 42 lung-fibrosis trial participants found that rentosertib shifted blood-protein aging estimates toward younger profiles. This does not yet prove rejuvenation or longer life.

The progress is real. Understanding the evidence helps us see how far each discovery has actually reached.

HUMANITY MUST BECOME TRANSFORMABLE

If uncontrolled AI could eventually threaten human survival, slowing the most dangerous AI race is only half the solution. We must also accelerate the development of humanity itself.

The vision is Homo Transformabilis—a future human capable of repairing, adapting and surviving:

🦾 Replaceable organs and protective exoskeletons
🧠 Neural protection and cognitive enhancement
🌌 Survival in extreme environments
🔐 Preservation of memory, identity and consciousness

Like a transforming machine, the future human may need to change biological and mechanical forms without surrendering human identity or control.

True immortality and consciousness transfer remain scientific horizons—not present realities. Our first priority should be preserving and repairing the living brain.

Don’t merely build more powerful machines. Build a humanity that is harder to destroy.
