Israel weaponises winter in Gaza and must allow the immediate entry of temporary housing
Palestinian Territory β The international community, including the United Nations and its member states, particularly the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions, must take all necessary measures to pressure Israel to lift its ban on the entry of temporary housing units (caravans) and essential shelter materials into the Gaza Strip, and to ensure their unrestricted entry and distribution without political or security conditions.
Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor warns of an imminent catastrophe with the onset of winter, including the potential collapse of hundreds of severely damaged homes on their inhabitants due to the absence of safe and liveable housing. Thousands of families are forced to live in cracked buildings or under fragile tents that offer no protection from cold or rain, exposing them to collapse, injury, death, and an increased loss of life.

Euro-Med Monitor is set to release a new field investigation tomorrow into a massacre carried out by the Israeli army against the Abu Nahal family in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, in February 2024. The investigation, conducted over nearly 21 months, relied on an on-site examination of the targeted location, testimonies from survivors and eyewitnesses, technical analysis, and precise temporal and spatial mapping. It reveals that Israeli military aircraft deliberately targeted a displaced family, killing 15 civilians, including 13 children and women, without issuing any effective prior warning or taking meaningful precautionary measures.

Sweeping ban on international aid groups: Israel escalates genocide in Gaza as 2026 begins
Occupied Palestinian Territory β Israelβs decision to halt the operations of dozens of major international humanitarian organisations working in the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly in the Gaza Strip, as 2026 begins constitutes a grave escalation aimed at suffocating the humanitarian response and severing life-saving support pathways.
This is being carried out through a licensing regime that contravenes international law and violates the obligation to allow and facilitate rapid, unimpeded humanitarian access to civilians.
