As 2026 begins, Israel is moving to shut down the backbone of the humanitarian response in Gaza by banning dozens of international aid organisations. Through an unlawful licensing regime, life-saving medical care, food, water, shelter, and protection services are being deliberately cut off, accelerating the collapse of an already devastated health and relief system and deepening conditions calculated to destroy the population and force displacement.
