A council has lost its High Court fight to keep asylum seekers out of one of Stoke-on-Trent's most historic hotels. Stoke-on-Trent City Council had secured an interim injunction to stop the asylum seekers moving into the North Stafford Hotel, in Stoke.

It means asylum seekers could now take up all 88 rooms at the hotel.
