The Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC) has learned through a reliable source that Pedram Argha, a 31-year-old dentist and resident of Kermanshah, was shot during protests on Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the city. According to the source, Pedram Argha encountered security forces after leaving his clinic. The officers were engaged in a confrontation with another man and were attempting to assault him, at which point Argha intervened to protect the individual. During the encounter, Argha was shot from two directions: one bullet from behind and another from the front. Following the incident, bystanders transferred him back to his clinic and informed his family. He was subsequently taken to a private hospital, where he fell into a coma and ultimately died on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Pedram Argha was an adherent of the Yarsani faith.

According to received information, authorities pressured his family to either pay one billion tomans (approximately 2,000 USD) or identify Pedram as a member of the Basij militia in order to release his body. Since Argha’s father was unable to pay this amount, the family was compelled to accept the designation of him as a regime supporter.

مرکز اسناد حقوق بشر ایران از طریق یک منبع مطلع دریافته است، که پدرام ارغا، دندانپزشک ۳۱ ساله و ساکن کرمانشاه، در جریان اعتراضات روز پنج‌شنبه ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در این شهر هدف شلیک گلوله قرار گرفت. به گفته این منبع، پدرام ارغا پس از خروج از مطب خود با نیروهای امنیتی مواجه شد. مأموران در حال درگیری با مردی دیگر بودند و قصد ضرب و شتم او را داشتند که پدرام برای حمایت از آن فرد وارد عمل شد. در جریان این برخورد، پدرام ارغا از دو جهت هدف گلوله قرار گرفت؛ یک گلوله از پشت و دیگری از روبه‌رو شلیک شد. پس از این حادثه، حاضرین در محل او را به مطب منتقل کرده و خانواده‌اش را مطلع کردند. وی سپس به یک بیمارستان خصوصی منتقل شد، اما به کما رفت و نهایتاً روز شنبه ۲۰ دی جان باخت. پدرام ارغا پیرو آیین یارسانی بود.

بر اساس اطلاعات دریافتی، مأموران برای تحویل جسد، خانواده او را تحت فشار قرار دادند تا یا یک میلیارد تومان پرداخت کنند و یا هویت پدرام را به عنوان بسیجی معرفی کنند. با توجه به این که پدر پدرام توانایی پرداخت این مبلغ را نداشت، خانواده مجبور به پذیرش معرفی او به عنوان بسیجی شدند.

با توجه به محدودیت‌های شدید ارتباطی و قطعی مداوم اینترنت، تأیید مستقل تمامی جزئیات این روایت‌ها در حال حاضر امکان‌پذیر نیست.

According to reports received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), on January 19, 2026, eleven agents acting on warrants from the Judiciary and the Prosecutor’s Office arrested Artin Ghazanfari, a Baha’i news photographer, at his Tehran residence.

During a seven-hour search of his home and private office, authorities confiscated personal belongings, electronic devices, and literature. Following his arrest, Mr. Ghazanfari was permitted only one brief telephone communication, during which he was unable to disclose his whereabouts. He remains in detention at an undisclosed site, and the specific charges against him have not been made public.

بر اساس گزارش رسیده به مرکز اسناد حقوق بشر ایران، دوشنبه ۲۹ دی‌ماه، ۱۱ مأمور با حکم قوه قضائیه و دادستانی به منزل آرتین غضنفری، شهروند بهایی و عکاس خبری ساکن تهران، مراجعه کرده و او را بازداشت کردند.
این مأموران از ساعت ۹ صبح تا ۴ بعدازظهر منزل او را تفتیش کرده و حجم زیادی از وسایل شخصی، تجهیزات الکترونیکی و کتاب‌های وی را با خود بردند. سپس به دفتر شخصی او رفته و آنجا را نیز مورد بازرسی قرار دادند.
آرتین غضنفری در این مدت تنها یک تماس کوتاه تلفنی داشته و از محل نگهداری خود اطلاعی نداده است. تا این لحظه، هیچ خبری از محل بازداشت و اتهامات مطرح‌شده علیه او در دست نیست.
وی پیش‌تر نیز در سال ۱۳۸۸ بازداشت و به اتهام «تبلیغ علیه نظام» و «اخلال در نظم عمومی» به یک سال حبس محکوم شده بود.
همزمان با اعتراضات سراسری دی‌ماه ۱۴۰۴، گزارش‌هایی از بازداشت شماری از شهروندان بهایی در شهرهای مشهد، کرمان و تهران نیز منتشر شده است.

According to information received from local sources in Mashhad, Qaem Hospital, the city’s main university hospital, has effectively become a site of deadly violence amid ongoing unrest. Sources report that numerous young people have been killed at the hospital, and that injured protesters— including those with pellet wounds—have allegedly been shot after seeking medical treatment.

The same sources say that most doctors at the hospital have been detained inside the facility and are not allowed to leave. They are reportedly forced to treat only wounded security forces and affiliated patients, some of whom are said to be non-Iranian, including members of Hashd al-Shaabi and Sudanese forces. Based on information collected from local sources and medical staff, during the protests on the evening of January 8, 2026, in the city of Esfarayen (North Khorasan Province), Islamic Republic security forces carried out widespread killings by direct gunfire and the use of military-grade weapons against protesting civilians. Available evidence indicates a significant number of civilian deaths, organized efforts to conceal the true number of victims, pressure on families, and attempts to impose fabricated narratives on the injured.

Time magazine, citing two senior officials at Iran’s Ministry of Health, reported that during January 8 and January 9, 2026—coinciding with the peak of the crackdown on protests—as many as 30,000 people may have been killed in cities across Iran.

هفته‌ نامه تایم به نقل از دو مقام ارشد وزارت بهداشت ایران گزارش داده است که در جریان اعتراضات ۱۸ و ۱۹ دی‌ماه ۱۴۰۴، احتمالا تا ۳۰ هزار نفر در شهرهای مختلف ایران کشته شده‌اند. این در حالی است که شورای عالی امنیت ملی جمهوری اسلامی شمار کشته‌شدگان را ۳۱۱۷ نفر اعلام کرده است.

Iran’s state news agency ISNA has released a video featuring remarks by Qasem Fakhraei, head of Farabi Hospital Tehran, regarding eye injuries sustained during the January 2026 protests. He said that from the early hours of Friday, January 9, protesters began arriving with ruptures to one or both eyes.

According to Fakhraei, by the morning of Saturday, January 10, nearly 1,000 patients with eye ruptures requiring emergency surgery had been admitted—excluding cases involving eyelid injuries or those not needing immediate surgery. خبرگزاری ایسنا ویدیویی از اظهارات قاسم فخرایی، رئیس بیمارستان فارابی تهران، درباره موج آسیب‌ های چشمی در اعتراضات دی‌ ماه ۱۴۰۴ منتشر کرده است. به گفته او، از ساعات ابتدایی صبح جمعه ۱۹ دی، شمار زیادی از معترضان با پارگی یک یا دو چشم به این بیمارستان مراجعه کردند.

فخرایی اعلام کرد که تا صبح شنبه ۲۰ دی، نزدیک به ۱۰۰۰ بیمار با پارگی چشم و نیازمند جراحی اورژانسی به بیمارستان فارابی مراجعه کرده‌اند؛ آماری که شامل موارد پارگی پلک یا بیمارانی که فعلاً نیاز به عمل نداشته‌اند، نمی‌شود. به گفته او، ۱۷ نفر از مراجعه‌ کنندگان دچار آسیب دوچشمی بوده‌اند. همچنین وی افزود پیش از ۱۸ دی، ۵۵ مصدوم با اصابت پرتابه‌هایی مانند ساچمه به چشم مراجعه کرده بودند که این رقم تا صبح ۲۰ دی به بیش از ۷۰۰ نفر افزایش یافته است.
