According to a report received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), Amir Vahabzadeh, a 41-year-old citizen, was killed in the Banafsheh neighborhood of Karaj, Alborz Province, on January 8, 2026. He was reportedly shot twice—once in the neck and once in the shoulder.
The report adds that Vahabzadeh had a 15-year-old daughter who developed heart problems following her father’s death. His mother, who had been battling cancer, passed away two weeks after losing her son.
