According to a report received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, Tayebeh Seraji, a resident of Taybad—a city with a population of over 50,000 in Razavi Khorasan Province—has been detained by security forces. The report further states that Ms. Seraji has been charged with “Moharebeh” (waging war against God) in connection with her alleged online activities and is at risk of receiving a death sentence. No information is available regarding her court proceedings, including access to legal counsel or participation in hearings.

The source also reported that her family was told: “We will inform you; come and collect the body.” Ms. Seraji is the mother of a 10-year-old child.

Meanwhile, there is no information about the thousands of people detained during the January 2026 protests, and their families have so far been unable to contact them or learn anything about their fate. The lack of transparency and denial of communication with detainees constitutes a clear case of enforced disappearance on a large scale.

Reports indicate that detainees are being held under harsh conditions, including physical and psychological torture and denial of access to medical care. Charges against them are brought without adherence to minimum standards of fair trial, and fundamental principles of due process are not being observed. It is also reported that some detainees have been sentenced to death; however, no details are available regarding the judicial process through which these sentences were issued, particularly given the short period following the protests.

بر اساس گزارشی که به مرکز اسناد حقوق بشر ایران رسیده است، طیبه سراجی، شهروند اهل تایباد، شهری با جمعیتی بیش از ۵۰ هزار نفر در استان خراسان رضوی، توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شده است. این گزارش می افزاید که خانم سراجی به دلیل فعالیت‌های مجازی منتسب به او، به «محاربه» متهم شده و در معرض صدور حکم اعدام قرار دارد. هیچ اطلاعاتی در مورد مراحل دادگاه وی، از جمله دسترسی به وکیل مدافع یا حضور در جلسات رسیدگی، در دسترس نیست.

Shahin Milani Tells BBC: The Islamic Republic’s Aim in Publishing Casualty Figures Is to Mislead Public Opinion

Following the release of a list of some victims of the January protests by the Iranian president’s office, Shahin Milani, Executive Director of the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), told BBC Persian that the figures published by the Islamic Republic are “propaganda.” He said, “One should not pay any attention to the numbers announced by the Islamic Republic.”

According to many observers and human rights activists, a significant portion of the names of those killed is missing from the published list, and the actual death toll is far higher than the official figures.

Milani added that the Islamic Republic’s purpose in releasing these statistics is to mislead domestic and international public opinion, as well as international media outlets.

در پی انتشار اسامی شماری از جان ‌باختگان اعتراضات دی‌ماه از سوی دفتر رئیس‌ جمهوری ایران، شاهین میلانی، مدیر اجرایی مرکز اسناد حقوق بشر ایران، در گفت ‌وگو با بی‌بی‌سی فارسی تاکید کرد که آمار منتشرشده از سوی جمهوری اسلامی «پروپاگاندا» است و گفت: «اصلا نباید به عدد اعلامی جمهوری اسلامی توجه کرد.»
به گفته بسیاری از ناظران و فعالان حقوق بشر، بخش قابل ‌توجهی از اسامی کشته ‌شدگان در این فهرست وجود ندارد و آمار واقعی جان ‌باختگان بسیار بالاتر از ارقام اعلام ‌شده است.
شاهین میلانی گفت که هدف جمهوری اسلامی از انتشار این آمار، گمراه‌ کردن افکار عمومی داخلی و خارجی و همچنین رسانه‌های بین‌المللی است.

According to a report received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), Mahan Rostami, a 21-year-old Yarsani citizen, was killed in the Dowlatabad area of Kermanshah on January 8, 2026. He was reportedly shot in the heart by Islamic Republic forces.

The report states that Rostami was a resident of the Goran region in Dalahu County, Kermanshah Province. It adds that authorities pressured his family to identify him as a “Basiji” in order to receive his body, which they refused. The family, however, was ultimately required to sign a written pledge agreeing not to publicly disclose the circumstances of his death.

بر اساس گزارشی که به مرکز اسناد حقوق بشر ایران رسیده است، ماهان رستمی، شهروند ۲۱ ساله یارسانی، در تاریخ ۱۸ دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ در منطقه دولت آباد کرمانشاه کشته شد. بنا به گزارش‌ها، او توسط نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی از ناحیه قلب مورد اصابت گلوله قرار گرفته است.

این گزارش می‌گوید که رستمی ساکن منطقه گوران در شهرستان دالاهو، استان کرمانشاه بود. همچنین اشاره شده است که مقامات به خانواده او فشار آوردند تا برای دریافت پیکر، ماهان رستمی را به عنوان «بسیجی» معرفی کنند، اما خانواده از انجام این کار خودداری کردند. با این حال، در نهایت از آنها خواسته شد تا تعهد کتبی مبنی بر عدم انتشار عمومی جزئیات مرگ او را امضا کنند.

بازداشت احمدرضا محمدی، کاسب محله قلعه حسن‌خان تهران

یک منبع آگاه به مرکز اسناد حقوق بشر ایران گفته است که شهروندی به نام احمدرضا محمدی در روز ۱۱ بهمن توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شده است. به گفته این منبع، مأموران امنیتی او را در محل کسب خود (مغازه لوازم الکتریکی) در منطقه قلعه حسن‌خان تهران بازداشت کرده‌اند. تا زمان انتشار این خبر، خانواده او از علت بازداشت، نهاد بازداشت‌کننده و محل نگهداری وی بی‌اطلاع هستند.

این بازداشت در شرایطی صورت گرفته است که پس از سرکوب خونین اعتراضات دی‌ماه، گزارش‌های متعددی از بازداشت گسترده شهروندان در نقاط مختلف ایران منتشر شده و در بسیاری از موارد، خانواده‌ها همچنان از وضعیت بازداشت‌شدگان اطلاعی در دست ندارند.

According to information received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), Ahmadreza Mohammadi, a shopkeeper in Ghaleh Hasan Khan, was arrested by security forces on January 31, 2026, in Tehran. He was detained at his workplace, an electrical supply shop, and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to information received from an informed source, Rezvaneh Sadeghi, who was arrested nearly two weeks ago, spent several days in a security detention facility. The source said that due to injuries sustained, her physical condition is critical and she is in urgent need of medical care.

Sadeghi has recently been transferred to solitary confinement at Evin Prison and is facing the charge of “moharebeh” (waging war against God). According to a report received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), the trial of three Baha’i women—Shideh Tavakoli, Sheila Tavakoli, and Sheida Rouhani—Scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The three individuals face charges of membership in groups formed with the intent to undermine national security (Article 499), engaging in propaganda activities related to the Baha’i faith (Article 500 bis), and propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran (Article 500).

The three women were arrested on May 27, 2025, following violent raids by security forces on their homes, carried out without the presentation of a judicial warrant. During the operation, security agents conducted thorough searches of the residences and confiscated personal belongings, including books related to the Baha’i faith, mobile phones, computers, tablets, gold, and foreign currency. In one of the homes, property deeds for a house and a vehicle were also seized.

بر اساس گزارش رسیده به مرکز اسناد حقوق بشر ایران، دادگاه سه زن بهایی به نام‌های شیده توکلی، شیلا توکلی و شیدا روحانی روز شنبه ۱۸ بهمن ۱۴۰۴ برگزار خواهد شد. این سه شهروند با اتهام‌های عضویت در گروه‌های برهم‌زننده امنیت کشور (ماده ۴۹۹)، فعالیت تبلیغی مرتبط با آیین بهایی (ماده ۵۰۰ مکرر) و تبلیغ علیه نظام جمهوری اسلامی ایران (ماده ۵۰۰) روبه‌رو هستند.

این سه شهروند روز ششم خرداد ۱۴۰۴ در پی یورش خشونت‌آمیز مأموران امنیتی به منازلشان، بدون ارائه حکم قضایی بازداشت شدند. در جریان این عملیات، مأموران اقدام به تفتیش کامل منازل کرده و شماری از وسایل شخصی از جمله کتاب‌های مرتبط با آیین بهایی، تلفن‌های همراه، رایانه، تبلت، طلا و ارز را توقیف کردند. همچنین در یکی از منازل، اسناد مالکیت خانه و خودرو نیز ضبط شده است.
