According to a report received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, Mojtaba Mohammadzadeh, a 21-year-old resident of Mashhad in Razavi Khorasan province, was fatally shot on January 9, 2026, after a live bullet struck the right side of his temple in Meraj Square Shahrak-e-Hojjat, a neighborhood in Mashhad.
According to informed sources, his body disappeared following the shooting and was ultimately located by his family on January 13 at the morgue of Behesht-e Reza Cemetery, where it was formally identified and released to them.
Mr. Mohammadzadeh, who worked as a cabinet maker, was laid to rest on January 14 at Behesht-e Rezvan Cemetery Mashhad.
Due to restrictions on access to information and the prevailing security conditions imposed on the families of killed citizens, independent verification of all details of these reports is currently not possible.
