According to a report by Reuters, Mehdi Mirza Hosseini, a 41-year-old resident of Tehran, has been missing since Monday, March 16, 2026, after a residential-commercial complex housing his shop was struck in what witnesses describe as a double airstrike occurring within seconds.
Local sources report that the building was hit twice in rapid succession, resulting in extensive destruction, including the complete demolition of Mr. Mirza Hosseini’s shop.
A civilian with no reported military affiliation, Mirza Hosseini had worked for years as a butcher’s assistant before opening his own small business approximately one year ago. Although he had temporarily closed the shop during the early weeks of the war, family members say he briefly returned after receiving repeated calls from customers seeking essential food supplies. His mother had urged him to remain at home, but according to his brother, he responded: “Customers are calling. I have to go and do my job.”
Two of his brothers continue to search the site daily. So far, only his car keys and jacket have been recovered from the rubble. His family states that he is the only individual still unaccounted for following the attack. According to his family, he was a civilian and had no ties to any military organization.
Rescue teams have reportedly recovered six bodies and pulled 18 survivors from the debris. The fate and whereabouts of Mehdi Mirza Hosseini remain unknown.
