Hooman Forouhari, a Zoroastrian cleric, was arrested on March 15, 2026, by IRGC intelligence forces in the city of Kerman. Reports indicate that he has since been subjected to intense pressure to make forced confessions.

According to available information, his wife, Minou Mehrabani, a Zoroastrian researcher and cultural activist, was also detained by the same security body during the early days of Nowruz. Prior to their arrest, the couple jointly managed a Telegram channel focused on educating the public about Zoroastrian teachings.

As of now, there is no clear information regarding the charges against them, their place of detention, or their physical condition. Efforts by their family to obtain updates have so far been unsuccessful.

Their arrest and the continued lack of information about their situation have raised serious concerns among activists and members of the Zoroastrian community, particularly regarding potential rights violations, including coerced confessions and the risk of harsh sentences.
