According to a report by Tavana, concerns are mounting over the fate of Farzad Moradi, a young man from Izeh, Khuzestan Province, amid fears that his death sentence could be carried out in the near future. Informed sources say his family has been told that the execution may be imminent, with delays reportedly attributed only to wartime conditions.

In this case, Moradi faces charges including forming an armed group and “waging war against God” (moharebeh). Authorities have linked the defendants to the killing of several security forces during the January 2026 protests in Izeh. There are also reports indicating that some individuals connected to the case may have given statements against him under pressure.

He is reportedly being held in the quarantine section of Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, while two other defendants in the same case remain in security detention facilities, with little information available about their current condition.

The report further raises concerns about Moradi’s physical condition and treatment in custody. He is said to have been subjected to violence during arrest and interrogation, with signs of serious injuries observed. Despite requiring medical care, his treatment was reportedly left incomplete, and he was returned to detention against medical advice.
