The sister of Sina Kazemi, who was killed during the nationwide protests of January 2026, said in a post on X that after receiving numerous messages from people unable to locate Sina’s grave through the Behesht-e Zahra cemetery database, she investigated the issue using the names of several other deceased individuals and discovered that the records of some protest victims had been removed from the system.

In the post, published on May 21, she wrote: “We checked with several different names, including non-protest-related deceased individuals, and my suspicion turned out to be true. Behesht-e Zahra in Tehran has removed the names of our loved ones from its system.”

According to her account, the removals have at least been observed in Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra database, preventing families and visitors from locating the burial sites of those killed during the protests through the cemetery’s official search system.
