Amirmohammad Kazemi, a 19-year-old man from Negar, a town in Bardsir County, Kerman Province, was shot and killed by members of the Basij, the paramilitary volunteer force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Reports indicate that the shooting followed a confrontation between Basij forces and a group of young men, allegedly over playing loud music during the month of Muharram.

According to Hengaw, the incident took place on Friday, June 27, 2026. The organization reported that Basij forces confronted the group outside the town, claiming they had failed to observe the sanctity of Muharram. During the confrontation, Amirmohammad Kazemi was shot directly by the forces.

An informed source said the bullet struck Kazemi in the head, killing him at the scene.

Published information indicates that Kazemi was serving his mandatory military service and had returned to his hometown while on leave. One day before his leave was due to end, he had gone on an outing with several friends outside the town when the fatal shooting occurred.
