Elnaz Shakerdoost, an Iranian film and television actress, has been summoned to appear before the Tehran Revolutionary Court.

According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), she has been ordered to attend a hearing in Tehran on Sunday, July 12, in connection with unspecified political and security-related charges. Further details about the allegations have not yet been released.

Following the January 2026 protests, Mashregh News, a media outlet close to the Iranian government, called on judicial authorities to summon Shakerdoost upon her return to Iran and investigate a claim attributed to her that 40,000 citizens had been killed during the protests.
