Hamidreza Dorostkar, a political prisoner held at Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, has criticized the judicial proceedings against detainees arrested during the January 8 and 9 protests, as well as the conduct of some lawyers, in an audio message sent from inside the prison.
In the recording, Dorostkar says that many of those detained during the protests, most of them young people and teenagers, have faced what he describes as unfair proceedings and fabricated charges, resulting in harsh prison sentences of 10, 15, and 20 years. He also criticizes lawyers who demand legal fees running into hundreds of millions of tomans from detainees’ families, saying that some families have been forced to sell agricultural land, investments, and savings to cover the costs.
Dorostkar accuses some lawyers of exploiting the difficult circumstances of detainees and their families. He says that such lawyers will eventually have to answer for their conduct in what he describes as a “healthy society.” At the end of the recording, he pays tribute to lawyers he describes as honorable, including the late Khosrow Alikordi, Maryam Arvin, and Mohabbat Mozafari.
Dorostkar, who is married and has a child, has been granted open-leave status several times during his sentence, but each time the privilege has repeatedly been revoked and he has been returned to prison. Following his most recent return, he was barred from returning to the open-leave program over a social media story he had posted before the outbreak of the war.
Dorostkar has now been held at Sheiban Prison for several months after being transferred from Behbahan Prison. Despite the passage of this time, authorities have yet to approve his return to the open-leave program, while reports indicate that his conditions in prison remain poor.

درستکار در این فایل صوتی میگوید شمار زیادی از بازداشتشدگان این اعتراضات، عمدتاً جوانان و نوجوانان، در روندهایی ناعادلانه و با اتهامات «ساختگی» به احکام سنگین ۱۰، ۱۵ و ۲۰ سال حبس محکوم شدهاند. او همچنین از مطالبه حقالوکالههای چندصد میلیونی از خانوادههای بازداشتشدگان انتقاد کرده و گفته است برخی خانوادهها برای تأمین این مبالغ، زمین، سرمایه و پسانداز خود را فروختهاند.
او با انتقاد از آنچه سوءاستفاده برخی وکلا از وضعیت دشوار زندانیان و خانوادههای آنان میخواند، تأکید کرده است که این وکلا در آینده و در «جامعهای سالم» باید پاسخگوی عملکرد خود باشند. درستکار در پایان از وکلای کشتهشده یا درگذشتهای که آنان را «شرافتمند» خوانده، از جمله خسرو علیکردی، مریم آروین و محبت مظفری، یاد کرده است.
حمیدرضا درستکار، که متأهل و دارای فرزند است، در طول دوران محکومیت خود چندین بار از امکان استفاده از «رأی باز» برخوردار شده، اما هر بار این امتیاز لغو و وی به زندان بازگردانده شده است. او پس از آخرین بازگشت به زندان، به دلیل انتشار یک استوری در شبکههای اجتماعی از ادامه استفاده از رأی باز محروم شد؛ استوری مذکور پیش از آغاز جنگ منتشر شده بود.
درستکار چندین ماه است که از زندان بهبهان به زندان شیبان اهواز منتقل شده و با وجود گذشت این مدت، همچنان از بازگشت به شرایط رأی باز محروم است. گزارشها همچنین حاکی از نامناسب بودن وضعیت او در زندان است.
