According to a HRANA report, on Friday January 19, 2024, security agents in Boroujerd, Lorestan Province, shot at a car and killed one of its passengers, Anahita Amirpour, a 20-year-old student from Kouhdasht who was studying at Boroujerd Azad University. The vehicle’s driver named M. Jalai Fard, also a student, was transferred to the intensive care unit of Boroujerd’s Chamran Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
The local governor of Boroujerd claimed that the security forces had ordered the car to stop, but the passangers of the car tried to escape, and the officers first shot in the air and then fired at tire of the car.
But an informed source told HRANA that plainclothes security agents rushed to the car and asked them to stop the car and get out, and because these people had no uniform the driver got scared and drove away. Subsequently the security agents fired at them.
