The Baha'i International Community has stated that on May 28 Iranian officials “bulldozed Bahai-owned rice fields in Ahmadabad, Mazandaran, destroying crops in the attack". These are the lands that had been fenced off illegally by government agents in January 2024.

Mozhgan Samimi and Shiva Kashaninejad, Baha'i citizens living in Rasht, were sentenced to two years and one day’s imprisonment, a fine of eighty million and ten thousand toumans (approximately $1335), and five years and one day of “deprivation of social rights.” This sentence was issued by Branch Three of the Rasht Revolutionary Court on the charge of "educational activity and promotion of matters related to the Baha'i faith". Mozhgan Samimi and Shiva Kashaninehad were arrested by security forces at their homes on July 19, 2023.
