Raheleh Rahemipour, a 72-year-old activist and a family member of an individual executed during the 1980s, was detained after being summoned to Evin prison’s prosecutor's office.
Last summer, the Tehran Revolutionary Court, with Judge Abolghassem Salavati presiding, sentenced her to six years and two months’ imprisonment on charges of disseminating propaganda against the Islamic Republic and conspiring against national security. Five years of this sentence is enforceable.
This sentence has been upheld by the appeals court.
