Reza Rasaei, who was arrested during the nationwide protests of 2022 in Kermanshah Province, was executed in Dizelabad prison on August 6, 2024. His family were not notified before his execution. Rasaei was a follower of the Yarsani faith. He was sentenced to death by the second branch of the Criminal Court of Kermanshah Province on the charge of killing Nader Bayrami, the intelligence chief of the Revolutionary Gaurds in Sahneh, Kermanshah Province, during nationwide protests of 2022. The court convicted him based on his own confessions, which, according to Rasaei, were obtained under torture.
