Sahar Mamizadeh, a 29-year-old activist from Ardabil, remains in custody and is reportedly being subjected to both physical and psychological torture. She was violently arrested on June 18, 2025, by IRGC forces who stormed her family home at gunpoint, aiming their weapons at all family members. According to sources cited by Tavaana, the agents confiscated all mobile phones in the house to sever communication with the outside world.

For a month, her family had no information about her whereabouts, health, or even whether she was alive—until yesterday, when they were finally permitted a brief visit. During the meeting, they learned that Sahar is being held in a filthy, isolated cell at an undisclosed location. Her body was reportedly covered in severe wounds, and she is being subjected to daily interrogations and torture. Sahar told her family she had been taken to the gallows as a form of psychological torture, only to be brought back.

The family remains under surveillance and pressure from security forces and fears for Sahar’s life. No official entity has taken responsibility or provided any information regarding her condition. This is not the first time Sahar has been targeted—she was previously arrested in October 2024 by Ardabil’s intelligence agents over her protest posts on social media and was later released on bail.
