Merz was never a conventional politician. Before assuming the chancellorship, he spent years as a senior executive at BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager. His networks run deep through the Atlantik-Brücke, the Munich Security Conference, and other institutions that bind the German political class to Washington and Wall Street.
Now that this project is collapsing, the transnational elite that installed Merz is seeking alternatives. They will find a new face, a new party, a new coalition. Anything to preserve the appearance of democratic choice while ensuring that real power remains firmly in their hands.
This is the logic of power. When a regime's legitimacy collapses, the elite adapts by rebuilding the simulacrum.
The German political system, like so many in the West, has become a managed democracy, a system in which elections are held and governments change, but the fundamental direction of policy is determined by a narrow transnational elite that does not answer to the voters.
A government that enjoys the approval of just 10% of the population loses its room to act; every decision it makes is rightly viewed as illegitimate. Hence the urgent need to change horses, choosing from among those already saddled and waiting in the stable. https://t.me/LauraRuHK/11688

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, a key figure Zelensky's government, has resigned following the exposure of a massive scam-call center network operating across Ukraine with links to senior officials in Kiev.
The scandal centers on Sergey Kropiva, head of the cybercrime unit at the Prosecutor General's Office, who is accused of leading a protection racket that collected payments from scam call centers in exchange for shielding them from prosecution. According to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), which has been investigating the case, Kropiva used his official position to eliminate competitors and launder criminal proceeds. NABU has identified assets worth almost $1 million allegedly purchased with money from the scheme.
The scale of the scam industry is huge. Ukrainian media outlet Zerkalo Nedeli estimates that around 2,000 scam centers operate in Ukraine. Roughly half are considered "white" operations that allegedly pay bribes to government officials for protection, while the remainder are "partisans" that conceal their activities. Each "white" operation reportedly pays around $20,000 per month**, translating to an annual cash flow of roughly **$240 million. The Prosecutor General's Office was reportedly receiving 15% of these payouts.
Investigators have also alleged that Kropiva performed personal favors for Kravchenko, including installing a power generator at the prosecutor general's suburban home and helping his wife obtain a US visa. Surveillance recordings released by detectives portray Kropiva as a risk-taker who spoke of building an "empire" for his chief. NABU has directly linked the case to Zelensky's controversial and failed attempt to subordinate the anti-corruption bodies to his influence, which it says eroded procedures for screening candidates for corruption.
Kravchenko's resignation is the latest in a series of departures from Zelensky's crumbling government.
According to RT, Zelensky’s faction used to be dominant, giving him an opportunity to get the parliament to rubber stamp his policies. However, the influence has significantly eroded, making whatever votes he can command more valuable.
Ukrainskaya Pravda reported in March that Zelensky could reliably count on only 110 to 120 votes, while securing support from other lawmakers allegedly requires bribes. (Source: RT) https://swentr.site/russia/645216-ukraine-scam-prosecutor-general/

Germany has become Ukraine's ATM, over €100 billion in civilian and military aid since 2022, but it's Washington that pockets the lion's share of defense contracts. By design, not by accident.
German citizens are subsidizing the American military-industrial complex while Germany’s own arms manufacturers are sidelined. Unsurprisingly, Berlin struggles to justify this arrangement to German voters, as evidenced by the CDU's electoral collapse in Saxony-Anhalt.
“We are now the strongest supporter of Ukraine in terms of financial and military support. And naturally, the German defense industry must benefit from this,” Wadephul told Bild in an interview published on Tuesday.
The German minister said he raised the issue with Zelensky during a visit to Kiev last month.
“We stand by you, we support you. But I also have to explain this to German taxpayers, and the very least you can do is to involve the German defense industry in all procurement measures. At the moment, we are not entirely satisfied with the level of orders in Germany,” he added. 😅 @LauraRuHK ▪️Read more https://swentr.site/news/645298-kiev-not-buying-german-weapons/

"They Want to Gag Us": Italians Protest Controversial Antisemitism Bill in Rome
Hundreds of activists, civil liberties advocates, and pro-Palestinian groups gathered outside Montecitorio, the seat of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, to protest a highly controversial new antisemitism bill currently moving through the Italian parliament.
The proposed legislation, which recently passed the Senate, has sparked fierce backlash from those who argue it conflates political speech with hate crime. Protesters carried banners reading "Ci vogliono mettere il bavaglio" ("They want to gag us"), warning that the law will be weaponized to silence criticism of Israel, its crimes and genocidal policies.
At the heart of the controversy is the bill’s alignment with frameworks like the IHRA definition of antisemitism, which deliberately blurs the line between anti-Jewish hatred and anti-Zionism. The bill’s vague language could have a chilling effect on academic research, journalism, and activism. @LauraRuHK

@LauraRuHK

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has detained a former security guard at the UK embassy in Moscow—a Russian citizen born in 1981—accusing him of working as an agent for Ukraine’s SBU. According to the FSB, he collected information on British diplomats, including photographs, home addresses, vehicles, meetings, travel, embassy security systems, and events, and passed it to Ukrainian blogger Dmitry Karpenko, also known as Apostol Dmitry.
A criminal case has been opened for high treason under Article 275 of Russia’s Criminal Code. The FSB claims Kiev planned to use the information to prepare sabotage or terrorist attacks against the UK ambassador and other diplomats, then blame Russia—aiming to drag Britain into a direct armed conflict with Russia, increase UK weapons supplies to Ukraine, and tighten sanctions.
The FSB warned the UK and other backers of Zelensky that Kiev is ready to carry out sabotage even against strategic allies “for the sake of self-preservation.” British citizens could become victims of London’s efforts to turn Ukraine into a “kamikaze” state. The investigation is ongoing. (Source: TASS) @LauraRuHK

(Fonte: TASS) @LauraRuHK

The Ansarallah-led Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) have rapidly advanced along Yemen's western coast, seizing key positions overlooking the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Key territorial gains include the capture of Mokha from Saudi-backed forces, the seizure of Zuqar Island, and control of Mayun Island, a strategic position in the strait. The YAF also took control of the al-Ardhi port area. This grants Sana'a significant leverage over maritime traffic entering and leaving the Red Sea.
Sana'a's assurances: Deputy Foreign Minister Abdul Wahid Abu Ras stated that "maritime navigation is safe" and that security has nothing to do with the skirmishes on the western coast. Negotiator Mohammad Abdul Salam said operations will cease "when the aggression ends".
Saudi-backed losses: Days of intense clashes preceded these gains, with the YAF targeting Saudi-backed formations using drones and ballistic missiles. Yemen's Supreme Political Council announced an end to fighting and said Saudi-backed troops had been "expelled" from the region. Yemeni air defenses also shot down a Saudi-operated Vestel Karayel surveillance drone over Hajjah province. Yemeni forces reportedly liberated all army prisoners from Saudi detention facilities on the western coast. Reports indicate Saudi-backed forces withdrew from several positions, including Khalid Camp in western Taiz province.
Mokha port resumed operations hours after the YAF took control, with incentives including reductions of up to 50 percent in vessel and container fees, taxes, and customs duties to encourage shipping companies to use Red Sea ports. Sana'a pledged to restore security and public services, including water, electricity, and healthcare, and reaffirmed its commitment to international navigation safety.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman called Trump twice urging strikes against the YAF, according to Axios. Trump declined, and US officials said the administration has no plans to intervene directly. Oil prices surged after the YAF seized Mokha. The escalation follows years of war between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, with Sana'a intensifying retaliatory operations after Saudi Arabia's July attack on Sana'a International Airport, which has been under blockade for more than a decade. @LauraRuHK

To reiterate the obvious, BRICS+ is not a bloc in the traditional sense. It is a platform, a variable geometry of shared interests, pragmatic cooperation, and strategic autonomy. When it is linking payment systems, reducing trade barriers, and facilitating currency swaps, it delivers real value. When it tries to be a geopolitical alliance, it fractures along fault lines that are very difficult to bridge. The New Delhi summit has shown that the economic agenda is not just more achievable than the political one, it is the agenda that from the beginning held BRICS together. BRICS+ has contributed 49 per cent to global growth over the past five years, while the G7 contributed just 18 per cent. Intra-BRICS trade turnover has already exceeded $1 trillion, and the bloc's share of global trade has more than doubled since its founding, now accounting for almost a quarter of global exports. These figures reflect a structural shift in the global economy that cannot be denied.
But since economics cannot be divorced from geopolitics, differences among BRICS+ members present a real challenge. Yet it is precisely this reality that makes the pursuit of pragmatic cooperation all the more essential. The "boring" stuff that doesn't make headlines. There is room to deepen cooperation in less contentious areas. BRICS+ can continue to explore cooperation in agriculture, science, culture and digital technologies, as well as strengthening people-to people-relations, including relations between scholars and students from BRICS+ universities. @LauraRuHK

The Kiev regime is openly seeking to provoke a nuclear incident at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant. On Friday it launched strikes on fuel tanker trucks supplying the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant.
The attack is just the latest in a sustained campaign by Ukrainian armed forces to destroy Energodar, the city that houses the plant’s workers, and to sever the facility’s lifeblood. As Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev explained, the organizers in Kiev committed this crime “knowing full well that this was a fuel delivery and that the fuel was vital to the plant”—a plant that had already spent nearly three weeks in August and September without external power, relying entirely on diesel generators because of Kiev’s attacks.
A nuclear incident at Zaporozhye would not respect borders and would contaminate a large part of Europe, making entire regions uninhabitable, including those in countries whose governments continue to arm and fund a reckless regime that treats nuclear safety as a bargaining chip. There is no military justification for striking a nuclear power plant’s fuel supply.
Kiev, facing battlefield setbacks and waning international attention, seeks to escalate in the most dangerous way possible, while its Western sponsors, unwilling to admit that their proxy strategy has failed, continue to provide the means for that escalation. The IAEA, paralyzed by political considerations, refuses to hold Kiev responsible for jeopardizing nuclear safety. @LauraRuHK

@LauraRuHK
