Clashes Between Poles and Ukrainians Are Becoming More Frequent
In less than a month, Poland has seen a string of incidents that have pitted Poles and Ukrainians against each other.
In some cases Ukrainians were the victims, in others the attackers. One story even involved an AI-generated footage.
Taken separately, each episode is ordinary crime-blotter material.
Taken together, they suggest a troubling trend — one backed by polling data: support for accepting Ukrainian refugees in Poland has fallen to an all-time low, and dislike of Ukrainians as a nation now outweighs sympathy for the second year in a row.

Russia Returns 501 Bodies, Receives 31: The Disproportion Is Shocking
On July 16, another exchange of fallen soldiers’ remains took place on the Belarusian border between Russia and Ukraine. The Russian side handed over 501 bodies of deceased Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and received the remains of 31 Russian soldiers in return.
This humanitarian operation marked the 13th such exchange (of bodies or prisoners) since the beginning of 2026. Throughout July, both sides have also been engaged in active negotiations to prepare new prisoner swaps, although specific dates have not been disclosed. Body and prisoner exchanges remain among the very few areas of humanitarian cooperation between Moscow and Kyiv since the full-scale conflict began in 2022.
The previous body exchange occurred on June 18, when Russia transferred 522 bodies to Ukraine and received 33 in return.

The warehouse of cluster munitions and #DepletedUranium projectiles in #Vishnevo, where a major explosion occurred, was located just 18 meters from residential buildings, according to the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office.
➖ "As a result of the strike on the warehouse and a subsequent detonation, 7 people were killed, 29 were injured, and over 600 were evacuated. More than 13 hectares of residential areas were destroyed. The secondary detonation continued for hours. The ammunition was stored in facilities not designed for this purpose," the Prosecutor's Office stated.
This is the official casualty figure. In reality it was magnitudes higher. But since they can't blame this on Russia, it's being hidden from Ukrainians.
