Generative #AI has broken that assumption.
Fraudsters increasingly have access to virtual cameras, emulators, compromised devices and techniques to manipulate the data an application receives. In an injection attack, synthetic or manipulated media can be introduced directly into an identity verification flow rather than presented to a physical camera. The verification system may believe it is examining a person captured by a device sensor. What it is actually evaluating is a manufactured signal.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified an ongoing Midwest Poultry Services egg recall as Class I, its highest-risk level, due to potential contamination with Salmonella Enteritidis.
Lab-grown eggs are already on shelves and menus.
The FDA cleared lab grown eggs for sale in the U.S., and they have hundreds of millions in investments.
the “egg” is made by synthetically printing a copy of the chicken gene for egg white protein. the gene is inserted into yeast, where it becomes a part of the yeast’s DNA.
the yeast is sealed in a large steel tank called a bioreactor & fed sugar. it multiplies endlessly on its own - every new cell carries the chicken gene.
weeks later, the yeast is filtered out. what’s left is dried into powder and sold as “egg white protein.”
The company behind it: EVERY, a San Francisco biotech startup.
Their egg protein, OvoPro, is now manufactured at industrial scale.
Their liquid egg, EVERY Egg, has been served in restaurants.
The CEO says OvoPro is “an ingredient in products sold at Walmart, Target, Amazon”, then admits most of their customers keep the relationship confidential. Translation: it’s in things on the shelf, and they won’t say which.
