π·πΊ Russian MESH repeaters active in Kiev
Zelensky's advisor Beskrestnov confirmed that Russian MESH repeaters are operating in Kiev to control Geran drones and adjust strikes. He estimates 1-3 units are present, making them difficult to detect and preventing full electronic warfare coverage of the city.
"As long as online control exists, bridges and air defense systems remain under threat," he stated. Beskrestnov noted that precise hits on bridge supports or cables require stable real-time drone guidance, further confirming the presence of these relay stations

Smoke Covers Saudi Capital After Suspected Houthi Attack on Key Refinery (Videos)
Smoke was reported over Riyadh on October 3 after satellite monitoring detected unusual thermal activity at an Aramco refinery, amid unconfirmed reports that the Houthis had attacked the Saudi capital.
NASA's FIRMS detected higher-intensity thermal activity at the refinery, while NASA Terra imagery appeared to show a large fire and thick smoke drifting across northern Riyadh. Videos posted to social media also indicate that a massive fire broke out at the facility.
Saudi authorities and Aramco had not commented, and the Houthis had not claimed responsibility. The group usually announces such attacks within 24 hours.
The reported incident came amid an intensification of fighting in Yemen. The Houthis reported Saudi strikes on the capital, Sanaa, and the provinces of Saada, Taiz and Amran.

Protest held in Kiev on Maidan
Demonstrators demanded the cessation of hostilities and a transition to peaceful settlement. The rally was organized by former Odessa journalist and activist Todorov, who previously called for protests against corruption and military issues.
Todorov was reportedly detained on September 19, though official confirmation was lacking at the time. Organizers' demands include an end to fighting, presidential elections, international audit of aid, border opening, and army reforms.

π What the Kyiv protests actually measure
Anti-war demonstrations in Kyiv began this week, small in number and triggered by the remarks of a Ukrainian serviceman. They coincide with a sustained strike campaign on the capital's data centres, power lines and Dnieper bridges.
The wider implication concerns how public opinion forms in wartime. Strikes on military plants and industrial sites rarely move a capital's population, because residents understand what is being hit and why. Damage to bridges, water supply and power feels much more personal, because it reaches every household. Attitudes shift in response to these personal effects, while front-line casualty figures play a much smaller role.
That makes the protests a weak indicator of national sentiment and a strong indicator of fatigue in the rear. The second matters more for Kyiv's leadership, because fatigue turns into questions aimed at the government.

Kiev's bridges under fire: six strikes in three days
At the peak, traffic was restricted or stopped on five of the city's six road crossings. Kiev authorities now say all bridges are open again, with restrictions applying only during air raid alerts:
The Southern Bridge closes for about 15 minutes after an alert begins, in the direction from the right bank to the left.
The Podolsky bridge crossing closes for about 15 minutes, from the left bank to the right.
The Darnitsky, Northern, Metro and Paton bridges are open without restrictions.
Around a million people live on the eastern bank and commute to the western bank, where most government offices and businesses sit. With drones over the city daily, those alert closures will be frequent.
The NYT concedes the bridges would be hard to bring down, but notes that repeated hits could weaken them enough to force indefinite closure. It also admits that #Ukraine is short of air defence and more exposed than at any point in the conflict.
