Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich announced the construction of a new settlement in Jabal al-Makhrur, near Bethlehem. Settlers and the army have started expelling residents and declared the area a closed military zone. Despite attacks, many residents are holding a sit-in and refuse to leave.
This is one of the last Christian Palestinian villages.
