The film “Scenes from Occupation in Gaza” is a documentary that presents some of the Israeli occupation measurements against Palestinians, and a profile of the struggle of Palestinian people in Gaza. The film won the Golden prize in the short film competition of the International Baghdad Festival for Films and TV Programs on Palestine 1973. It also won the prize of the International Youth Union at the Leipzig International Film Festival in 1973.

In the 1972 documentary “Scenes from Under Occupation in Gaza” by Mustafa Abu Ali, the way of life in the Gaza Strip under Israeli occupation is showcased. Instances of war, invasions, mass arrest campaigns, home demolitions, and operations to displace Palestinians living in Gaza to the Sinai peninsula, or the West Bank, are all mentioned as injustices caused by the Israeli government and army.
The steadfastness of Gaza’s resistance movement is also praised in the documentary. The city is described as “holding the banner of resistance with bravery and resilience, high above its noble wounds.” The resistance in Gaza fought hard against Israeli forces, sacrificing their lives for them not to occupy the land after the Six-Day War in 1967.
