๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ Biladi, une rรฉvolution - 1970

Switzerland - Fr no Subtitles - Documentary | Director: Francis Reusser | 60 minutes

Jordan 1970 : Like a political tract, the film exalts the Palestinian revolution through the role of the combattants, women, workers and children. Revolutionary songs and poems punctuate the people's struggle for liberation. This film defends a cause that was very little supported at that time. 'Biladi, une rรฉvolution' is one of the very first (if not the first) films on the issue.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ Black September Organisation - 1/2

In addition to sowing civil war and the disintegration of Lebanon, the 1970 Jordanian-Palestinian war led to the creation of the Palestinian #BlackSeptember movement. The BSO was created in 1971, as a small cell or #commando faction that split from the PLO, specifically the Fatah #faction. Recruits from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (#PFLP), as-Saโ€™iqa and other groups also joined.

Initially, most BSO  members were #Fatah dissidents who had been close to Abu Ali Iyad, the commander of Fatah forces in northern #Jordan. He continued to fight the Jordanian army after the withdrawal of the #PLO leadership. He was killed, allegedly by execution, by Jordanian forces on 23 July 1971. According to them, the Jordanian Prime Minister at the time, #WasfiTal, was personally responsible for his torture and death.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ We Are the Palestinian People: Revolution Until Victory (1973) Documentary

Made by a breakaway faction of the US Newsreel collective Pacific Newsreel, We Are the Palestinian People (Revolution Until Victory, 1973) edits exclusively archival footage into a detailed, historical reconstruction of the conflict. Great attention is paid to the political genesis of #Zionism, the role of colonial Britain in assigning Palestine to #zionists and the strategic role Israel has played ever since in the control and monopoly of the worldโ€™s most sought-after commodity, oil.

While other titles in the season stressed the internationalist dimension of the Palestinian #revolution by linking it to other #AntiColonial struggles, the same concept is rendered here specularly โ€“ for if #AntiImperialism is a transglobal phenomenon, so is #repression. Incorporated into the montage is footage of general Moshe Dayan visiting Vietnam to learn about counter-insurgency techniques.

He was also a product of 1960s Beirut - a period when the city was a magnet for young reporters, revolutionaries, migrants and misfits, as well as host to the Palestinian leadership in exile. It was in #Beirut that Kanafani produced #AlHadaf, a forward-thinking Palestinian #magazine, that has been somewhat lost in the mists of time.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ Tell Your Tale, Little Bird (2007) | Palestine Film Institute - Documentary, 1h 30m

Seven militant women (#fedaiyat) of the revolutionary generation tell the story of the Palestinian resistance through accounts of their own lives.

Cut from 35 hours of interviews with leaders of the armed struggle, the film presents an image of confident, unapologetic and proud feminine identity.Together, the memories of these women narrate the dream of a generation, yet unrealized.

Tell Your Tale, Little Bird is a testament to the power of remembrance, positioning memory as an essential element of feminist struggle. The film reminds us that this oral tradition may carry recollection of past resistance, but it is in the very practice of retelling womenโ€™s stories that the political act has persisted.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ The Black Dress: Unveiling the Truth about Rape, Sexual Assault on October 7 | Palestine Chronicle #Documentary

While sexual assaults on Palestinian women are as old as the Israeli war on the Palestinians, starting during the years of the Nakba - the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948 - there is little evidence that Palestinians utilized sexual violence in their struggle against the Israeli occupation

Yet, on 28/12/2023 , The NY Times, claimed, in report entitled โ€˜Screams without Words: How #Hamas Weaponized Sexual Violence on Oct. 7โ€™, that Israeli women were raped on October 7

Two leading Palestinian media organizations, The Palestine Chronicle and Friends of Palestine Network, conducted a joint investigation, based on media reports, in addition to historical and political analyses

The outcome of their investigation resulted in a documentary looking into The NYT allegations and the possible falsification of evidence regarding what has truly transpired on October 7.
