The following photos shows the evolution of the burnt areas from the day the fire broke out until yesterday 29.08.2023.
Continuing to burn for the 12th day, the burned area in the latest update from the Copernicus Rapid Mapping Service, amounted to 812,600 acres (up to 29.08.2023, 12:03 local time). Of the total burned area of 812,600 acres, approximately 650,000 acres burned during the three-day period of August 21-23.
