🔻In this world, success means being successful in the divine tests.

🔻Other successes in life are the tools for us to be tested.

🔸When the central factor for our destinies, for the prophets being sent, and for the religious laws are for us to be tested, this means that the main thing in this world is neither suffering nor being comfortable. Therefore, people’s goals should not be success, comfort and blessings, and of course, no one’s goal should be to be in pain, suffering, bothering oneself or giving hardships to oneself.

🔸We are not supposed to search for #success in this world. This means that we should not be after reaching that optimal point that we have in mind. The optimal point is to pass tests correctly. Our only success is to be successful in divine #tests.

🔸When we say that the central factor for divine destinies is tests, this means that whether you are given hardship or comfort, this is for you to be tested. [Qur’an 89:15–16]

🔸When we see some differences between others and ourselves, we should not say that this is #discrimination and this is in contradiction with God’s justice! The Commander of the Faithful, Ali (as), said, “Do not count wealth and children to be the criteria of God’s anger or pleasure. This stems from your ignorance about divine tests and trials for testing [people’s] abilities and powers.” [Nahj al-Balaghah, sermon no. 192]

🔸We can say that the #primary, practical goal of the creation of human beings is to be #tested. The Qur’an says, “It is He who has created death and life to put you to the test.” [67:2] The #intermediary goal of creation is “#worshiping and servitude.” The Qur’an says, “We have created jinn and human beings only that they might worship Me.” [51:56] The #ultimate aim and goal of creation is #meeting_God.” The Qur’an states, “…you are working hard toward your Lord and you will meet Him.” [84:6] It also states, “We are the servants of God and to Him we shall all return.” [2:156] In other words, the primary goal of creation that we are facing in our actions in this world is testing.

🔻The sentence for announcing your readiness to help God’s Guardian in the “Arbaeen Supplication” is the same sentence that completes Hajj!

🔸A tradition says, “The completion of Hajj is in meeting the Imam.” [Kafi, vol. 4, p. 549] For your Hajj to become completed you must visit the Imam. Imam Baqir (as) said, “Hajj is for people to go to their Imam at the end and announce their #readiness to help us (Imams).” [Kafi, vol. 4, p. 549] This is the same sentence you say in the #Arbaeen_Supplication.

🔸There is a key sentence in the Arbaeen Supplication, “I am ready to help you.” [Tahdhib al-Ahkam, vol. 6, p. 114] This means saying, “O my Master, O Ibn al-Hasan (Imam Mahdi) (a.j.), I am ready to help you.” This announcing your readiness to help God’s Guardian in the “Arbaeen Supplication” is the same sentence that Hajj is completed with! In the early days of Islam too, whoever joined the believers had to be ready to help the Prophet of God (s). They even had to promise to sacrifice their lives for the life of the Prophet (s).

🔸The next sentence in this supplication is, “Until God gives you permission.” Until God gives you permission and you are commanded to rise up. Then the supplication continues, “I am with you. I am with you and not with your enemy.” In the Arbaeen Supplication, we announce our stance. This means a person is announcing his presence.

🔻The beauty of trusting in God is that a person plans and acts, then trusts in God.

🔸We cannot understand from the #results whether we have acted correctly or not. It is possible that we have acted correctly and accurately, however since the testing system has not allowed us, we do not get the results we wanted. The other way around is possible too.

🔸Having the outlook that, “Will God accept this from us and give results to our actions?” is an incorrect outlook. That is because it is possible that God will accept our deeds but not give worldly results to our actions. The opposite is possible too, it is possible that He does not accept our actions but gives worldly results to them.

🔸Sometimes God’s testing system does not allow a good servant to do a good deed that he/she wanted to do. For example, sometimes God does not allow a good servant who always prayed the Midnight Prayer to get up and pray. Because now God’s testing system says that if he gets up to pray, he will become #proud and it will cause his ruin. If this person does not pray the Midnight Prayer and then blames himself because of being deprived of benefiting from the Midnight Prayer, this is much better for him than praying the Midnight Prayer and becoming proud of himself.

🔸When we see that divine destines are surrounding us in this way, this does not mean that we should think that everything is due to force, leave all that we are doing and sit in a corner.

🔸If we were not supposed to #plan for ourselves and not take action according to our plans, if we were only supposed to pass God’s #tests and #trust in Him, our situation would have been much easier. The beauty of trusting in God is that a person plans and acts according to his/her plan then trusts in God.

🔸God has told us to plan for ourselves. Sometimes He causes our actions to have an #effect. Although other times, He ruins our mood by causing our actions to not have an effect in order to test us.

🔻 “Guardianship” means the Imam is a patron of the people.

🔻The supportive role of the Imam is more important than his role as a teacher.

➖In order for a person to flourish, he/she needs a #patron. This patron is the #Imam. The fact that the #Prophet is our Guardian means that he wants to support us. In the same way, the first thing we see in our parents is that they are our patrons. This is especially true about the period of childhood when one is greatly in need of their support.

➖If we ask our children what they think of the Imams and the Prophet, they will say that they are mostly teachers and guides, not patrons. Of course, it is true that the prophets and the Guardians are for our guidance too. However, the Guardian’s role of being a teacher and guide is less important than their role of being a patron for the people.

➖We should not imagine that being an Imam or a Prophet means being a teacher! The primary role of the Imam is to be like a parent and a patron. First off, people should understand this role, and then we can talk about their other role of being like a teacher and their rights on us. In the same way, if the role of parents in being patrons is understood, the parents’ rights will also be easily proven.

➖Why does the Imam play a #supportive role? This is so that he may resolve people’s weak points. Are we human beings truly weak and in need of a patron? If a student is confronted by a young person who is stronger than he is who wants to bully him, isn’t it necessary to support this student? Don’t various kinds of thieves and aggressors in the world infringe on the oppressed people’s rights when contending with them?!

➖The Holy Qur’an says, “The Prophet has more authority over the believers than they have themselves.” [33:6] According to a tradition, what is meant by the Prophet (s) having authority over your wealth and property is that you should work, but if you were not able to provide for yourself, the Prophet (s) will compensate for you. [Tafsir Qomi, vol. 2, p. 176] Therefore, the result of the Prophet and the Imams being patrons, having authority and having absolute Guardianship is that they are a support and patron of the people.

🔻What is the philosophy behind making a pilgrimage?
🔻Whenever you feel you are missing going on a pilgrimage, respond to your need and go.

➖Why is #visiting people so important? What are the benefits of visiting parents, brothers in religion and our family that it has been recommended so much?

➖Visiting others is one of a person’s needs. The act of visiting and #meeting others is the highest action and is the goal of creation. “O man! Surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him.” [Qur’an 84:6] All of people’s strivings and sufferings are for meeting God.

➖The last point of a human being’s life is meeting God. The highest point for a person in his life in the Hereafter is not eating and swimming in rivers of milk and honey. A person’s highest need is the action called “meeting,” which means “meeting God.”

➖A person’s need at the beginning and at the end of his life is “meeting.” Therefore, it is said, “When a baby is born, let his/her mother hug him/her immediately.” This need of the spirit is so important that according to research that has been carried out in the field of psychology, if a mother does not hug her baby for six months after his birth, the baby will die even if his other needs like food have been provided.

➖ #ImamReza (as) said, “The Imam is like a mother with her infant.” [Tuhaf al-Ogul, p. 439] When a child is hugged by his mother, he is fed spiritually. In the same way, a believer needs to visit his Imam and he likes to visit him. It is possible a person may not even know why he loves to visit the Imam. However, like a child who says, “I love my mom,” a believer says, “I miss going to the shrine.” Therefore, whenever you feel you are missing going on a pilgrimage, definitely go and respond to your need!
