๐Ÿ”ปWe are not forced to do everything we do; however, we are not completely free either.
๐Ÿ”ปA devilish movie is the one, which lies about us being able to change all realities.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Destiny (1)

๐Ÿ”ธIn religiosity or planning for our lives, we are mostly in pursuit of finding out how we should behave. However, before planning for these parts that we โ€œshouldโ€ do, we have to look at the moments when we are not in #authority. We should pay attention that in many affairs we do not have any #choice at all. It is obvious that we are not #forced for our actions, but we should pay attention that we do not have complete authority either.

๐Ÿ”ธThe truth is that we cannot #change many things. Even the things that we can change, the amount of the change that we can make is limited. The Commander of the Faithful, Ali (โ€˜a), said, โ€œI came to know Allah, the Glorified, through determination being broken, by difficult problems being resolved and by ambition being lost.โ€ [Nahj al-Balaghah, saying no. 250]

๐Ÿ”ธSometimes, a devilish movie tells a story, which results in strengthening a personโ€™s arrogance. A devilish move is not necessarily a movie that contains bad scenes. Rather, it is a movie that makes us neglectful about the realities that are surrounding us. Furthermore, it lies to us and tells us that we can change all #realities.

๐Ÿ”ธDuring recent years, some methods for spiritual training have become popular. They say with seemingly energetic, inspiring words, โ€œYou can change everything, and to do this you can even get help from God!โ€ This is while God Himself has said that you are not able to change many things. You can only change some things.

๐Ÿ”ปPaying attention to oneโ€™s destiny means that we should realize that on the highway of life, we cannot make a U-turn and change our path at just any time we want.

๐Ÿ”ปSometimes a person is a captive of his past goodness.

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ Destiny (4)

๐Ÿ”ธA person does not have the #authority to change his path at just any time that he wants. Paying attention to our #destinies means that we should know we are not completely free to do all good or bad deeds. On the highway of life, we cannot make a U-turn and change our path at just any time we want. Sometimes we have to travel one kilometre to get to a place where we can make a U-turn. For example, when a tradition says, โ€œThe worship acts of a person who eats from unlawful money will not be accepted for forty days,โ€ [Kanz al-Amal, tradition no. 9266] this means that he cannot make a U-turn and change his path for forty days.

๐Ÿ”ธIt is very good for us to look at these compulsory parts of our lives. Of course, according to what Imam Sadiq (โ€˜a) said, โ€œWe are not completely #forced, nor are we completely #free. Rather, it is something between these two.โ€ [Kafi, vol. 1, p. 160] We should pay attention to this fact that at least a part of our lives is not in our control.

๐Ÿ”ธSometimes a person is captivated by his past #goodness. For example, consider a person who serves the Household of the Prophet (โ€˜a) or their friends, honors the religious rites or makes a sacrifice at some time. Does such a person have the authority to do every bad deed he wants to do? No! God will not let him.

๐Ÿ”ธImam Husayn (โ€˜a) said, โ€œWhen people want to obey God, God will not stop them. However, when they want to commit a sin, if God wants, He will put a distance between them and their intention.โ€ [Makatib al-Aโ€™imah, vol. 3, p. 151]
