THE 90's KIDS
Born in the age of boon.
We're known as kids
born with silver spoons.
We've seen it all,
a decade,
a century and
a millennium.
We've seen immense change,
from manual
to digital.
Operated telephones,
upgraded to cellphones.
Read Encyclopedias for us,
visited Wikipedia for the younger ones.
Helped elders with gadgets,
assisted the young with projects.
Hovered for Radio signals,
played songs on shuffle.
We were the new geeks,
known as technology freaks.
We've played on grounds.
We've played with cassettes.
Those are the times,
we'll never forget.
We were the first batches,
tested with online classes.
It was their creation,
we were only for implementation.
Analog to Digital,
we were, somewhere in the middle.
Born in the time of boon,
we were no kids with silver spoon.
We were the experiment kids,
technology's guinea pigs.

The day you left,
I deleted the word love off my dictionary.

I stopped reading love.
I stopped watching love.
I stopped writing love.
I stopped talking love.
I stopped feeling love.
I just stopped believing in love.

That word sickened me,
it peirced me like a thousand pins.
Cause I always associated love
with you,
the love, which you threw into the bin.

I locked myself into a cocoon,
a place of lie.
I starting believing that there was no love
and would just cry.

The isolation started to kill,
my thoughts and my will.

I started wandering
in dreams.
Looking for you,
I'd shout and scream.

When I found no solace
with anyone on earth.
I decided to opt for
a rebirth.

I wished for you
in my next life.
You'd be my man,
I'd be your wife.

With these thoughts
in my mind.
Around my neck,
a noose I twined.

Cause when you left,
you shattered my love
and my motive to live.

I'll see you in my
next life,
waiting to be
your wife.

NEW HOME

I've been waiting for a long time now.
Been impatient all my life,
I ask the man ahead, is this the queue for afterlife?
Nodding his head, he tells me in a polite tone,
"do you have a 100 people who'd mourn?"
Counting my fingers, I stop at two,
dejected, I join another queue.
Thousands I see, forming a straight line.
Bright LED screens flash a message - 'Gateway to Heaven'
while the speakers yell, "walk slowly through the passage".
Through the walk,
I am handed over a pamphlet,
'Criteria for admission to Heaven' written over it.
Out of ten, I only fit in one.
Now, I have to run!
I end up in another queue,
Here, people are quite few.
No hoarding, no screen,
I receive token number fifteen,
with a dog, printed on it.
"Loyalty is not my cup of tea".
Returning the token,
I stand there heartbroken.
I don't want to be a human again,
ignoring that queue, I move ahead.
Far away, I see several people,
standing in a group,
I get in and ask them,
"can I please join your troop?"
They ask me a few questions,
I go through the process of selection.
Looking around at people like me,
"I belong here", my eyes shine in glee,
Never after death, have I felt so happy.
They make me sit on a seat,
and press the bell,
I'm pushed down to my new home - 'HELL'.

Trigger warning

I've seen people around me die.
Not by accidents or ailments,
but by a self inflicted crime.

I try not to think of them,
I tell myself, it was their wish.
Their time had come,
too early for their loved ones to miss.

I keep myself away from these news,
Cause I know nobody would like my views.

Living and dying should be one's choice,
why we create such fuss and noise.

I divert myself,
drown in work more than thoughts.
By the ends of the day,
I am back again, connecting all the dots.

I ponder upon what they've left behind.
All I see is their helpless family,
to whom we cannot turn blind.

Though I say, dying is one's choice,
suicide is the most selfish and bias.
Cause one only thinks for self,
leaving others a life of hell.

I was a kid when I read a number of love stories.
I always fantasized about a prince charming,
arriving on a white horse with music playing in the background.
"You'll be the prince and I'll be your princess.
It's a love story, baby just say yes."

All this remained a fantasy,
I never encountered love.
I had heard about violins playing in the background,
butterflies in the stomach, stammering or going silent;
in front that one, who makes your heart pound.

Until, the day I met you.
The moment I saw you,
I knew you were the one.
I didn't know your name,
I didn't know from where you came.

Looking at you,
I was mesmerized.
I got feelings that I never had.

Your passing by,
brought music to my ears.
I'd close my eyes
and feel you near.

I still remember your aroma,
which made me crazy,
the days when I would
bloom like a daisy.

I had never spoken to you but
had planned my entire life with you.
In my mind, you were that prince,
whom I was ready to wait forever.

This feeling which
I termed as infatuation
gradually, turned to love.
Now, my craze for you
is turning that love into limerence.

"You'll be the prince and I'll be your princess.
It's a love story, baby just say yes."
Cloak

What you see is a cloak,
a cloak woven to perfection.
You see a happy me,
it's only a misconception.

It's a different me that you see,
the me, that makes you believe;
there is someone who'll care
and never leave.

I always wanted you to smile
and never have a tear.
Seeing you sad,
was my only fear.

I have kept promise,
to guide you and be with you all along.
To be your shield
and always keep you strong.

I want to tell you now.
I want you to know,
there have been times
when I have felt pain;
I wanted to burst out,
but had to gulp it down.

I wanted to share it all with you.
I knew you'd not understand.
You had seen me all this while,
as a rock, who could withstand
everything with a smile.

I have been pretentious
all my life.
I've hidden from you my other side.
I've not always been happy,
I hope you understand
and I no more have to pretend.

Dear daughter,
Today,
I stand in front of you, to unfurl
I'm no strong woman,
I'm mother of the strongest girl.

The day your father left me,
I was a vulnerable woman.
The day you were born,
you made me strong.

I buried my vulnerability,
to give you strength.
With you I knew, I had the ability,
to live under any circumstance.

I held you tight against me
and put up a cloak,
to give you a life of dignity.
A cloak, to hide my vulnerability.

Craving

I've never imagined my life without you in it.
You've been there, every second, every minute.

For, when you aren't there,
I look for you
with madness, everywhere.

I'm obsessed with you
I won't agree, but yeah,
it's true.

I crave for you,
your eyes
where I see my paradise
your arms
that make me warm
your ear
when I whisper
your nose
when you're close
your palms
on my hips
your lips
on my lips.

With you, I feel the connection
of love and attraction.

You are my love,
you are my life.
If you cannot be mine,
I'll take a knife.

I'll hit you on your head
and give you a stab.
Cut you into pieces,
stuff you in a bag.

Baby, I'll keep you safe,
with me, always.
Not in my memory,
instead, in my treasury.

HAPPINESS, TOGETHER.

Jim owns a café, the Happiness Café, a place where people meet and share happiness. Enter and exit smiling is their motto. No arguments is their rule.

Jim has always been a cheerful and happy man. He always goes out of his way and do good things for others and make them happy.

His art of understanding others is the one nobody understands, it's a power that Jim possess, they say. Everyone around Jim has been happy. He's the one who can make others smile no matter how bad is their time. He's always been everyone's go to person and has solutions for everyone, in his own creative way. Jim is loved by all.

Lisa is Jim's childhood friend and partner but doesn't like Jim being so helpful towards all. Lisa believes that everyone has to be on their own and no one should interfere in others lives, be it their happiness or worries.

Jim and Lisa both share a great bond but have disagreements on Jim being so nice to everyone. Lisa keeps telling Jim that God has created everybody different and all will have good and bad days and there is no point in going out and solving each and everyones issues.

For almost a month now, Jim has been looking after this family of 6, a mother and her 5 children, whose father has abandoned them and their mother. Jim looks after their meals and expenses. He has also offered Tim, the eldest of the 5, a job at his café.

Jim is not able to give enough time to Lisa as he keeps juggling between work and serving others. Lisa doesn't get enough time with Jim, which makes her sad.

"That's how life is, with sadness one learns the meaning and importance of happiness, let them live the way they are because as you sow, you shall reap. They must have done something to deserve this suffering. You've done enough good for them, a job for Tim, that's enough Jim, you don't need to do more", Lisa tells Jim.

"What wrong have I done Lisa, is helping someone a crime? Why does is make you so unhappy?", Jim cries.

"You're a thief Jim", Lisa bursts in anguish.

"I'm not a thief Lisa, why do I have to keep you telling that?", Jim yells.

"Maybe because you keep stealing everyones sadness", hopeless Lisa answers.

"Lisa, it's not stealing if I plan to give it back, I take away their sadness to return them happiness. That makes me happy Lisa, that makes happy", Jim convincingly tells Lisa.

"But Jim", Lisa cries, "You stole my happiness and ruined it. Will I get back my happiness in future?"

"Why aren't you happy Lisa?, I have always loved you", quivering, Jim asks.

"You have no time for me, I'm no more your priority, I don't see the love anymore, you're always up there for others and not me, I see it all fading away Jim, it's all fading away." Lisa bursts out.

Jim holds Lisa's hands, "Honey, you'll always be my first priority. It's only because of you and your support that I've been able to change peoples lives, this makes me happy and knowing that you are by my side makes me happier. As you said, as you sow, you shall reap, honey, let us sow together? We can make a lot of difference to others lives and our little efforts can bring many smiles. I want you to be with me and in my journey, now and forever."

Tears of happiness fall of Lisa's eyes as she promises Jim, "We're in this together for our entire lives."

8 years back,
you left me.
You kicked me out
like I was nobody.

I begged at you
to tell me my fault,
cried for an answer.
But I was thrown away
without any closure.

I cried and cried
until all of my tears dried.
I lived with pain,
stopped enjoying the rain.
Every thing inside me was killing
and I was just living.

Lost weight,
got swollen eyes.
Everyone knew,
I was living a dull life.

Slowly, I started accepting
that you ain't coming,
I gathered some strength
and promised myself
that I won't cry again.

All these years
I kept my promise,
my eyes had no tears.
I put myself first,
I got a feeling of
a new birth.

A successful lawyer,
I've become.
I receive a message
from you on my phone.

Your message reads,
"hi, how are you?"
I sit there numb,
without any clue
wondering, if that's really you.

I check your name again,
as my memories take me
to where it all began.
All emotions gushing in me,
I remember each day
of pain and agony.

I reply back
and ask about you.
You text me,
"I need an advice from you."and

For all you past deeds,
you apologize
and tell me that your issue is legal.
At that point I realize,
success brings back people.

Today, I broke my promise
and cried again.
Not for you, but for myself.
All these years were so difficult,
now, I feel relieved to know,
it wasn't my fault.

11:11 WISH

11:11 is the time of
mixed feelings.
It's the time when
most of us are sad
yet, hopeful.
Hopeful,
to make a wish.
A wish, we know
might not be fulfilled,
yet we hope
for our dreams to build.
When the clocks tick 11:11,
everything stops.
In that one minute,
we go through deep thoughts.
We walk down our
memory lane,
we plan an ideal future
in our brain.
We close our eyes
for a second or two
and see our lives
flashing through.
Few wish for love,
few for money.
Few only wish for
peace and harmony.
It's a moment
so special,
for each of us
it has become crucial.
A wish that is
made at 11:11
is the one
fulfilled by the heaven.
It's time to let
the goodness unfold,
let us make a wish
for a better world.

To,

Everyone out there who has felt lonely and hurt for being left alone.

I know it is so hard to accept, accept the things around us. We all know that not everyone who comes in our lives, stay and it becomes so tough to accept someone's absence.

Upset, we start revisiting our memories; we glance through all photographs, videos, chats, deleting some of them, with tears rolling down our eyes. We stalk them, to keep a track on their lives, only to make our lives more miserable.

Why does it become so hard to look back at those memories which once gave you joy? Why do we have to expect everyone to be there forever?

The answer is simple, because we fear, fear to accept the fact that someone has left us and moved on in life and left us miserable.

Life would become so easy if we start accepting things, looking back at those memories and cherishing them, all the fun that you had.

Those little moments of happiness, which are frozen in photographs, deleting those will only create agony, for in the future, you'd have nothing to remember those moments except the little hazy memories.

We need to decide, what to choose, sadness or joy. We need to accept things the way they are, or at least learn to. The things won't change but only add to your pain. We should never fail to look back at those memories, which once gave you joy and while looking at them, just notice your smile.

-
Someone who's revisiting memories with a smile.

DOG AND BONES (PART 1)

The Bones family consisted of five members, Mr. Stuart Bones, the head of the family who runs a clothing business 'Chico', Mrs. Emily Bones, wife of Stuart and a well known singer who has given a number of Billboard hits. They have a pair of twins, both boys, Derek and Zerick, born in 2012.

The fifth member of the Bones family, a golden retriever, Archie. Stuart brought Archie from a rescue centre when he was a month old and Derek and Zerick were just above a year old. All three grew up together. Archie was growing faster than Derek and Zerick and took care of both, Archie was a very loyal pet, like all other dogs.

Stuart often told Emily that since the day Archie has come into his life, his business has expanded and has made huge profits, also the boys look very happy around Archie, Stuart calls Archie his lucky charm.

Every morning Stuart used to take Archie for a walk in the park, where he met his friends and they regularly discussed Stuart's business success and Archie's luck for his master. After their morning walk was over, Stuart would leave Archie home and go to work.

One morning, Stuart had an early morning meeting; he asked his friend Mike to take Archie for a morning stroll, Mike agreed and took Archie to the park. An hour later, Mike arrived at Stuart's house, huffing and puffing with a broken leash, he told Emily that Archie had run away. Emily was shocked, she immediately called Stuart and informed her about Archie. Stuart left work and started looking for Archie in every place and corner, but to no avail, he was unsuccessful, he couldn't find Archie anywhere in the town.

Stuart registered a missing report with the police but even the police couldn't find Archie. Stuart was very upset, he considered Archie as his lucky charm, and being unable to find him hurt him more.

Stuart cursed himself for leaving Archie with Mike. He confronted Mike multiple times for the whereabouts of Archie, but Mike had only one answer, "I was walking Archie in the park and his eyes fell on a beautiful poodle, he lost his control and started running behind the poodle when the leash broke off my hand and within a blink of an eye, Archie disappeared. I'm really sorry Stuart."

As days passed by, Stuart accepted that Archie was gone and might never come back. He started expanding his business and looked well after Derek and Zerick. Stuart's business was still flourishing.

DOG AND BONES (PART 2)

It was almost a year that Archie went missing. One night while Stuart was in bed he heard a dog howling, he found the howl familiar and immediately gushed at the door to check, as Stuart opened the door, Archie came in running and started licking him, Stuart was so happy. He woke up Emily and his kids, who had turned seven.

Archie was back, the family was back to five members again. Archie started playing with Derek and Zerick more often and would secretly enter Stuart's room, a place where no one was allowed.

Archie was very normal even after his return but the things in the house weren't. Stuart had daily complains that some of his files were missing and his room was messed up. Emily told Stuart that no one touches his room except the house help and the house help must have misplaced the files while cleaning.

At one instance Derek saw Archie coming out of Stuart's room with a file in his mouth, Derek took the file from Archie and kept it back in the room. That same evening, Derek once again saw Archie coming out of Stuart's room with another file in tightly gripped in his mouth, he went to Archie took the file and kept it back in the room.

Derek told Zerick about these strange incidents, Zerick ignored him and replied that Archie misses Stuart and so keeps going to his room but Derek thought otherwise. Derek was confident that something was wrong with Archie.

Derek started keeping a track on Archie and found that he was no more an ordinary dog, there was something demonic about him. Derek followed Archie till Stuart's room and sees something unbelievable, he saw Archie moving Stuarts file with his eyes, it was like magic. Derek couldn't believe his eyes. Once again Archie picked up a file and gripped it in his mouth and left the room.

Derek was alert, he was already capturing it all in his video recorder, he followed Archie. Archie left the house from the back door and went to Mike's house and gave him the file. Derek was shocked to see this, he immediately called Stuart to witness everything what was happening.

Stuart who had just reached home immediately left for Mike's house and what he saw there left him shocked, Mike was petting Archie. He heard Mike telling Archie in a grumpy voice, "the only way to know Stuart's business secrets was you my Archie, I've trained you for a year for this and you've delivered. Now, I have all important files of Stuart, it's time to see him begging" as he throws a bone towards Archie and shouts "you're gone Bones."

Stuart immediately left for his home and went straight to his room, locked it from the inside and opened his secret chamber and laughed out loud, "Archie, afterall you were a dog. I knew that you had turned demonic and were working for someone the day I heard you howl, I have known you for six years, you only howled when you wanted revenge. When my files were misplaced, I knew it was you my Archie, I knew."

All of Stuart's original files were safe in his secret chamber, he walked to his window and waved Archie a final Goodbye, while Archie's eyes had a demonic shine.

FELON

The first time I saw you,
you smiled
I fell for you and
into your love I dived
you asked me out that night
I had butterflies in my stomach
but your intentions weren't right
you touched me
It wasn't the you
whom I knew
I saw your vicious side
hungry for my hide
I begged and cried at you
you grabbed me and
started to chew
In pain, I yelled and
tried to loosen your grip
you had turned into a maniac
you smudged my lipstick
and removed my hairclip
threw me on your bed
I saw you undress
I revolted when you
gave me that hard press
you didn't stop
and as I bled
I fell numb, I felt dead
my sight was fading
when I saw you
leave the room with your shirt on
I lied on that bed
half alive, half dead
I had no strength to get up
and face anyone
I was ravished by someone
who was my world
I headed to the window
took a long breath
looked down and
I jumped to my death
now, I'll be in place
where there'll be
no question or answer
no love or torture
It would be just me
without a ravished body

I still remember you , Depression !

I was having
Sound sleep until
You knocked my Life ,
I checked you from the
Eyehole of my heart
And I denied to
Welcome you in my life .
Oh But , you were rigid
You stayed right there ,
You continued to
Knock and drill my life
But I ignored .
And then one day
I realised Somehow
You damaged my walls
Of heart and found your
Way to reach my heart,
You were successful
In destroying my
Walls of emotions.
I wish foolish I didn’t
Asked someone to drag you away
From my door.
And now it was too late
To stop you and ask someone
To help me out ,
You entered abruptly
You destroyed me terribly
You consumed me completely
And now ?
When you finally
decided to leave me ,
You took all my dopamine !

Silence spoke
Through those bushes
Beneath the dark roses
Fireflies kissed her caramel skin
lightening like small bulbs radiating
sparkles in the darkness
The wind ruffled her silk hair
making her cheeks tickle and toes
curl
Moon hid behind the clouds too
embarrassed to show it's scars
Fragrance of blossoming flowers
took her breath away
Solitude, her only companion
whispered not to worry
Still tasting the salt on her lips
and feeling the heaviness of her
lashes, she smiled..
