The rain

The rain brings rest
Dark clouds hover for days
The Sun evades the clouds
Then, one night, rain falls
In torrents, drenching the
Dreamy earth. The farmers
Get busy dressing the moist
Earth for weeks. All the while
The earth is at rest, having
Another ritual bath of the
Year. How relaxed and cute
She grows, like a blossomed
Maiden, ready to be shy.
And the drops glide down her
Feet, with scent of flowers.

He is like a kid. Yes he is. Like a 11 year old kid. He fought in the second world war. He was really brave. He was an American soldier. A brave American soldier. He fought tooth and nail just with a riffle. After when he returned from the army hospital, the doctor whose name was probably Marry Gliton or Marry Gomez said to his family, "Due to a deadly TBI to his pre-frontal cortex now he can't behave like adults. Rather he will behave like children. He needs care and affection. We tried giving him shock therapy but everything went down the drain as his level of gray matter cells is extremely low. You have to take care of him like a baby".

Then his family...

By the way, I forgot to tell you his name . His name is James.

Yeah, now what I was saying, his family then took him to their house. But James wasn't happy at all as his family used to consider him as a burden upon them. So they used to torment him a lot. His daughter-in-law used to rebuke him everyday. And his son crossed almost every limit. Once his son slapped James because he of opened the refrigerator without telling them to eat a piece of cheese. Though after 6 months a local newspaper reporter wrote about his torture in their article. A local NGO tried to help them but his family didn't even allow them to enter their house. After receiving a huge backlash from their neighbours his family decided to send him to a mental asylum. But after 13 months James somehow ran way from that asylum. The asylum told his family about the incident. But his family refused to do anything. Since then he can be found on this pavement of this street, begging and urging people like a child beggar to give him some food.

But sadly, considering his beard, his moustache, his uneven face, his uncombed hair, strangers really think that he is a beggar. But they real don't know about his contribution to the nation.

The hangout was so unpredictably dull. I was bored most of the time. Well, as the hangout was in spaceX's orbital pub with few of planet X's inhabitants and few friends from neighbouring planets, it was hoped to be entertaining. It was, however, perceived as the usual drinking and gambling with nothing exciting except for a show of new weaponry in space. Some gentleman gave us a nice show as a space-show but that was the best we had. On my way home, my bike broke down in mid galaxy XE-22 and i had to stay the night in a nearby planet called Namek. It had an environment very much like Earth with greenery and hills. There was a forest which had few caves suitable for a night. The night was silent and shiny with all the stars for sometime. I got a glimpse of a flock of dinosaurs moving few hundred feet away from me. The next morning I was blessed with a new set of electric starters for my bike by a passing fleet of traders. My bike was repaired and I was home in about half a day.

Part 1

It is the weekend and it is socializing time of the week. I just returned home from my office. I was looking forward to the weekend gathering in spaceX's orbital pub with some of my friends. I freshened up and entered my garage where my bike was parked. I lit a cigarette and sat on the bike. I started the bike and with a enthusiastic smile took off to the pub. As soon as i reached the pub, there was a free valet parking by the pub who took my bike to store it in their parking storage. I entered the pub to see my friends already partying. I reached the bar for a small drink before joining my mates. We were sitting by a glass wall which was overlooking the moon titan and some asteriods. After about 15 mins, the pub announced on their speakers for a space-show by the Ginyu Force. We started watching the show through the glass wall. The show was primarily showing some high-tech space crafts and also had a fighter combat with indestructible missiles. The space craft was high tech with advanced maneuvering capabilities and some better missiles. The fight was interesting to watch as two fighters fought around the moon while maneuvering around some asteriods and taking hits at each other. The rest of the night went with us gambling and drinking but it was the usual hangout routine with nothing interesting.

Part 2

The night was ending and so was my energy. I looked at my watch and saw it was nearly sunrise. I decided to leave and got up. I bid my mates goodnight and headed for the valet parking. The valet employee got my bike to me and I lit another cigarette for the way home. I passed through XE-10, my childhood galaxy where i could still remember my first space trip. As i was going home, i got a glimpse of few stars that were forming which was a beautiful view. The auroras coming out of them was like a child coming out of his mother's womb. Next thing I know, I was passing through galaxy AE-22 where my bike broke down and was not having much ability to reach home. I saw the planet Namek at a few light minutes away from me. I got there and it was almost midnight in that planet. The planet's environment was identical to Earth's environment. There were trees, hills, a few rivers and an ocean. I saw a cave on my way to the ground and decided to spend the night there. When I reached the cave, I lit a bonfire to keep me warm and to wary off any unwanted living beings. While I was wandering at the stars, I could hear a flock of dinosaurs at a few hundred feet away from me. They were headed in a group to the hills. I returned to the cave and decided to take a night's sleep to help my energy refill.
Empty words were all Mustang muttered as she trotted back and forth the length of the enclosed field. Once or twice, my ears caught a sentence but no more than that. With my back to the fence, I slowly slid down to the grass and let out a deep sigh of relief which earned me a snort from my companion.
"You're not listening" She complained.
"Sorry." I answered with a tired wave of my hand. Although, my eyes were to the ground, I knew when Mustang came to stand over me. So, I peered up from under my lashes at the mass of shinny black skin in front of me. I allowed my eyes to travel up the length of her body and met her gaze. My chest tightened.
"I didn't do it..."
A series of images flashed through my mind. A girl. In a bathing suit. Water splashing.
I clasped my hands down over my head, a pathetic attempts to stop the invasion.
Mustang's lowered herself to the ground, her legs folding neatly beneath her. She continued to observe me.

The memories kept flooding back without warning and I felt my walls come apart. I was by the lake again. The sun was warm against my skin. Big brown eyes were gazing up at me. Her laughter piercing my ears.
I must have appeared dazed because Mustang nudged me with her muzzle, pulling me from my reverie.

"Do you remember what happened?" Mustang's inquired, her voice cool and even.
I shook my head in response.
She stretched out two long legs and crossed one hoof over the other. Then she said ,
"Tell me what you remember," ignoring my answer.
I clutched my chest as my heart threatened to tear out of my ribs.
More images.

I let my head my hang low and began the story as I remembered it.
"Abigail and I. She's laughing and..." My voice caught in my throat and my eyes burned with the tears.
I didn't do it.

"She kept calling me by another name. Shan—" I shut my eye lids tightly, trying to recall.

"Ashanti?" Mustang chipped in. I lifted up my face to look at her for a brief moment and returned my gaze to the earth.

"Ashanti..." I repeated slowly. It felt awfully familiar. I drew in a deep breath and carried on.
"She wanted us to go deeper into the water. Something...about being one with nature."
"So, she took my hand, and pulled me deeper. Then..."
I paused and tried to slow my breathing. Every muscle in my body was tensed. As if sensing my inner struggles, Mustang nestled her head in my lap. I was taken aback by the gesture and reached out with unsteady fingers to stroked her mane.

****
Little Ashanti's eyes fluttered open to stare at her reflection in the mirror. Dull brown eyes stared back. She picked up her stuffed animal and flung herself onto her bed. Lost in thought, She resumed stroking her animal.

"Mustang?" She called out .
"Yes, Ashanti?"
"I'm bored." She mumbled.
No response.
"Can I change the story I'm telling myself?" She said.
"I feared you never would." replied Mustang.
A smile settled on her lips. Ashanti closed her eyes and travelled far.

I am in a waiting room at the Great Writers Dilemma Hospital waiting for my turn to cure my writers block.

It all started after I finished my novel, "The End is a Tend". The book took me a whole year to write. It was all about how everything, real or hardship, good or evil, comes to an end unarguably. That book drained my energy so badly, I feel like I dont have anything left in my creative side.

While I was waiting, there was a book titled "How to start over?". It was about a writers hardships and how it can help a writer in starting fresh. The book had a few nice strategies to begin with. I will share one tip here for my fellow reader. It said to look into the surroundings and absorb every minor detail. Make a note of everything and then start reflecting. This way, the writer will have a good creative mind state and be able to write.

As I almost finished the book, I heared a voice over the speakers calling my name. It was my turn to see the doctor. Will I be able to heal my weakness? Will I finish another book this time next year? Will I be enjoying my time writing? I was hoping all will be well while I headed to the doctors room.

The End
The Long Wait
It was a breezy sunny afternoon. Joy had chosen a park bench near the tall jacaranda tree close to the center of the lush green park. The moderately strong breeze rustled the jacaranda branches dropping more indigo flowers to the ground than usual.
What a romantic scene? She thought to herself as she glanced at her watch. It was ten minutes past 3.00 p.m. She couldn't believe she had been waiting for the love of her life and her best friend, Mike, for twenty minutes already. It felt like ages as time seemed to drag more than usual.
Anger was starting to build up inside her, owing to the fact that she had waited three months for this day.
"Hey. I'm really sorry for making you wait so long."
A barritone voice spoke softly from behind her. She must have been so deep in thought that she didn't notice Mike walking up to the bench. She turned around and there he was, tall figure with a smile to kill, holding a bouquet of flowers out to her. Excitement took over her body as ran and tightly embraced him.
When they finally broke the long embrace, Mike brought out a speaker.
"I brought a wireless speaker. I really missed dancing to our song with you. I missed you so much."
He turned it on and slow romantic music rent the air. Another embrace followed, but this time they danced slowly to the rhythm of the music.
Joy couldn't mind the long wait, since the satisfaction she felt now seemed to have been worth it. The sun seemed to come to life and smile at them, cheering them on. More jacaranda flowers fell, but this time they had taken the shape of love hearts. If it had been up to her, she would have let that moment go on forever. At last, her love was here with her.

A Life without soul

"Ah! My child do it briskly there is not much time left its the last one and its about to set off less than in an hour" said the man who was helping people to board there luggage .

There was barely anything left on earth now,no oceans, rivers nor oxygen .I had to sell my water to get oxygen for a day. The look of the earth was heart rending the atmosphere was tainted with red color, stroms of dust was the only thing that could be seen.

The soil was barely soil, it turned into hard red rocks and plants were like they never existed on the this planet.Even I was hurring to get into the shuttle, I knew there will be thousands who will be left abandoned to die. It was the moment when I had to think about myself than others.

"Last 10 mins to fly ", the man said .People were literally begging to take them to mars because there was nothing left here. The children were crying there hearts out and childing mothers were pushed, only stronger could survive .

Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the ship, But I knew there was nothing beyond but a life of slavery and hard bones I rather be dead and living like dead was my thought.

I was left there with million or should I say billion . We all saw the shuttle flying above us vanishing into the dusty blanket of air, the people moving in it never knew they were moving to there end, the ultimate end because there is no death on mars only a life without soul.

HAPPINESS, TOGETHER.

Jim owns a café, the Happiness Café, a place where people meet and share happiness. Enter and exit smiling is their motto. No arguments is their rule.

Jim has always been a cheerful and happy man. He always goes out of his way and do good things for others and make them happy.

His art of understanding others is the one nobody understands, it's a power that Jim possess, they say. Everyone around Jim has been happy. He's the one who can make others smile no matter how bad is their time. He's always been everyone's go to person and has solutions for everyone, in his own creative way. Jim is loved by all.

Lisa is Jim's childhood friend and partner but doesn't like Jim being so helpful towards all. Lisa believes that everyone has to be on their own and no one should interfere in others lives, be it their happiness or worries.

Jim and Lisa both share a great bond but have disagreements on Jim being so nice to everyone. Lisa keeps telling Jim that God has created everybody different and all will have good and bad days and there is no point in going out and solving each and everyones issues.

For almost a month now, Jim has been looking after this family of 6, a mother and her 5 children, whose father has abandoned them and their mother. Jim looks after their meals and expenses. He has also offered Tim, the eldest of the 5, a job at his café.

Jim is not able to give enough time to Lisa as he keeps juggling between work and serving others. Lisa doesn't get enough time with Jim, which makes her sad.

"That's how life is, with sadness one learns the meaning and importance of happiness, let them live the way they are because as you sow, you shall reap. They must have done something to deserve this suffering. You've done enough good for them, a job for Tim, that's enough Jim, you don't need to do more", Lisa tells Jim.

"What wrong have I done Lisa, is helping someone a crime? Why does is make you so unhappy?", Jim cries.

"You're a thief Jim", Lisa bursts in anguish.

"I'm not a thief Lisa, why do I have to keep you telling that?", Jim yells.

"Maybe because you keep stealing everyones sadness", hopeless Lisa answers.

"Lisa, it's not stealing if I plan to give it back, I take away their sadness to return them happiness. That makes me happy Lisa, that makes happy", Jim convincingly tells Lisa.

"But Jim", Lisa cries, "You stole my happiness and ruined it. Will I get back my happiness in future?"

"Why aren't you happy Lisa?, I have always loved you", quivering, Jim asks.

"You have no time for me, I'm no more your priority, I don't see the love anymore, you're always up there for others and not me, I see it all fading away Jim, it's all fading away." Lisa bursts out.

Jim holds Lisa's hands, "Honey, you'll always be my first priority. It's only because of you and your support that I've been able to change peoples lives, this makes me happy and knowing that you are by my side makes me happier. As you said, as you sow, you shall reap, honey, let us sow together? We can make a lot of difference to others lives and our little efforts can bring many smiles. I want you to be with me and in my journey, now and forever."

Tears of happiness fall of Lisa's eyes as she promises Jim, "We're in this together for our entire lives."

Title: That thief.
Hi!! I am Talia, Talia Fernandez. This is my story.
My life started on a beautiful note. I belong to a perfect family, where everyone understands and respects each other, attended the dream school of my city, Mystic Falls High School. A place perfect for making erudite students. No divisions based on social popularity, everyone carried on with their own business and respected others.

But, just like everything, this phase came to an end, when he walked in. Tyler Montero, famed thief of Mystic Falls. He created queen bees, jocks and bullies, and those who didn't join him, suffered. I didn't, and I was bullied for two years. So, I left that school for one year, to create a new me, with the self esteem that the Thief took away.

Right now, I am standing in front of the same Mystic Falls High School. And as if this didn't make me feel nervousness, the fact that Tyler, the same Tyler Montero was standing right in front of me, certainly did.
"Oh! Hi Talia, long time no see, how've you been?" His greeting sounded genuine and... guilty?
"Hi, Thief." I greeted back.
"I'm not a thief, told you then and am telling you now. I AM NOT A THIEF."
"Well, you used to steal people's stuff."
"But I returned it to them also."
"But, you stole something of mine and never returned it, thief"
"What, I stole nothing from you!"
"This is where you go wrong. You stole my self esteem, thrashed it pretty badly, and never returned it. Do you want to say you will return it now?"
"Ugh....."
"Bye, thief, see you later."

A world where everyone tells the truth no matter what the consequences is a world full of wonders. It is all so magical and wonderful that justice system will be very natural.

First, there will be notion of equality. Everyone will feel equal to others in such a society. There will be no superior or inferior persons. They will be all be rich by heart and poor by evil.

Second, there will be justice to everyone. When people say the truth, any oppressed will get immediate justice. There will be no injustice to anyone.

Third, which is a negative trend in such a society, is that some professions may be out of trend. Lawyer, policemen, and some more will not be requires in such a society. Any differences will be taken to a judge. The judge will take the facts from the two opposing parties and decide the verdict. Each party will get his right.

So, finally, such a system appears to be perfect but nothing is perfect in gods creation. Every society will lack some features and every society is different from the other society.

Earth suffers a planet-wide blackout as all technology is lost. That sounds like a catastrophe plus bliss.

First thing after reading the prompt which came to my mind, I loose this platform, the online crash course I attend and the lectures from IIT teaches that I get for free from YouTube.

On a larger scale, people faraway from each other loose connectivity with each other, businesses going online go off the track, everything related to technology, as small as a chip to as large as a supercomputer, or as vital as a satellite, suffers their doomsday. No TV, no phones, no AC, no fridge....

Oh man!! Destruction....

Wait, bliss comes too, people faraway are not in touch, so being with people nearby is the only solution. The scene of the whole "chowk" sitting in an open area and talking about day to day activities makes me feel serene.
Terrorists also loose their way to communicate secret information to each other and hide, so terrorism decreases significantly. Countries that claim to be able to finish the whole world, loose the technology which made them boast about themselves.

Just like two sides of a coin, such a phase would also have it's own pros and cons, now I wonder what actually living at such a place would feel like.

It's been a month since that unfortunate incident. We didn't know that rapid increase in technological advancements is not only harming the earth but also hampering the balance of solar system. That day, those outraged mighty creatures, the uninvited guests whom mother Earth never expected came out of nowhere from the sky and destroyed every progress we made since the modern era started.

At first, the whole world went chaos. No one could completely understand what happened. We couldn't communicate with anyone as all the networking system was destroyed. The information flow which keeps the world running was stopped.
Within 2-3 days , all the supply chain also perished due to lack of communication and travel so riots also broke . People were dieing due to starvation with a week . Even the most intelligent ones couldn't figure out what exactly happened.

In 2-3 weeks, engineers tried to put all communication and travel lines back to place but they couldn't do it properly and all we got was the slow paced calling network of old era. Still, it seemed enough to restore the supply chain. The first information which came out was shocking. They said - "Nearly half of the world's population couldn't survive. Increased fear due to hunger and insecurity lead to people killing each other!"

I am writing today not sure whether I'll survive or not because right now humans acting like zombies are ravaging across the city. I hope someone remains alive to tell our story. We have to start from scratch now but I believe we humans can do that. I have full confidence that we will get back to the place where we were a month ago soon.

Thank you

The plot is good and cambiar as well, an alien invasion like always not friendly , attacking us causing all networks and communication and traportations to fail, leaving all humans in despair and a big uncertainty of what will happen to the human race. But I couldn't grasp what caused the zombie attack , had the aliens spread the virus to cause the human race to suffer.

This is too mixed up , alien invasion, virus attack and world in chaos. This sounds like a mix up of several hollywood scenes from bradd pitts movie on virus, then " I am legend" of will smith and several others like tom cruise story of an alien being intelligent enough to control us.

Would like to read more about how this story unfolds.

There are certainly some mistakes here as well.

‘Are you serious? You haven’t developed feelings for me, ever?’

It was mid-of-Jan and we were walking along the river embankment.

She was a little worn out with her boyfriend and when that happens, she always asks me such silly questions.

‘Tch, tch. Friends don’t develop feelings for each other.’

I said matter-of-factly and observed her expressions. Her expressions were as steady as my grandma’s old wooden chair.

‘I mean… not even once? Please don’t say you never felt a thing for me. And if that’s the case, then why you got jealous whenever I’d talk to other boys?

And as she said that, I turned my gaze upwards, mulling for a sharp reply.

The clouds had just turned jet-black and the sun was sinking in the river ever so slowly, just like an ice cube sinks in the water and becomes a part of it, ever so slowly.

"You crazy? The hell I cared with you talking to other boys.

I always wanted you to pick one of those Romeos who were always running after you. Liking your photos, awww so pretty, I’ll do your assignments and saying much other creepy stuff, too.

Thank god you came in a relationship with one of them and I’m free now.

There’s a hell lot of peace in my life since you’re committed."

I replied in a fit of rage.

And later, I couldn’t make eye contact with her after that.

I lingered at the ground and thought myself being that ice; sinking in her love ever so slowly and becoming a part of her, day after day after day.

‘Oh!’

She sighed, just sighed, and we kept walking in silence for a couple of minutes.

But catching me off-guard, all of a sudden, she slowly reached for my hand and held my little finger not like a friend, like a lover.

For one second it felt like someone kicked my heart with a golden boot. Though, the pain was peaceful.

‘Hey! What the hell? What do you think you are doing? Are you dumbhead or what?’

I almost yelled at her as a flush of nervousness rose to my cheeks.

I tugged my little finger off from her grip and slid my hands into my pockets, refraining from any further embarrassments.

‘Haha, you can’t even lie properly, can you?

You’re so in love with me, right?

Right?

C’mon then, propose me right now!’

She giggled like a baby and kicked me hard on my right ankle.

Now don’t shy away like a village girl and propose me now.

C’monnnn!

She said and started laughing her lungs out.

IRONY
I remember he once said , "You should love yourself like you'd want other people to love you. And I love myself just the same way. " He looked so charming that I couldn't help but love him and believe every word he'd say. And somewhere, through the time, I forgot the first sentence he said.

I remember, when I was with him, I always felt like I'm in a haze, as if I'm swimming in water and he is Poseidon, controlling my waters. As if I'm not in his heart, but his hands. It almost felt like cocaine, except that I was high on him. Whatever he would say, I'd believe. He said I should be happy and I'm happy. He said I should be sad, and I'm sad.

But every drug starts to harm your body and mind sooner or later. I had overdosed on him. And I felt like I couldn't breathe if he wasn't near me. I wanted to be with him, but all I felt was that I was drowning in his ocean. Maybe it was his over effect. My friends tried to help me, but nothing would pass through my mind, 'thick skull', he'd say.

One day, I dared to ask him that why he was flirting with another girl. And I saw that devil in his eyes that made me flinch and just when he saw the fear on my face, he showed me who was in control and had more power. It was the first time but not the last.

He'd call me different names I would rather not think of again , but some days he'd make me feel like a princess. While someday, a prisoner. Maybe he was right. But one day, he said he'd leave me. And he did. He just left me, without another word. I got a text later, he said that I was caging him. And I asked myself a better example of irony.

"Check the restraints."
"Don't worry, he ain't going nowhere."
"Shut your damn mouth and check them."

As John heard the disgruntled mumbling of the man who was taking the orders, he realised that the voices weren't in his dreams after all. But why did it feel so distant and dreamy? He couldn't really think through, what with his head feeling foggy and all. His eyes just wouldn't open either as he tried to get a glimpse of the man, who was apparently tightening the straps on John's wrists.

"It hurts....." John mumbled indistinctly.
The man snorted derisively as he patted John's left arm, "Don't you worry fella, there ain't gonna be no more pain where you're headed!"

John barely heard the man, but he could sense the ominous tone of the man's voice. He felt his heart beating fast and loud, getting faster and louder by the second. One by one, he felt his senses coming back to him, and all of them seemed to be telling his brains the same thing - to be frightened. He heard the man's feet shuffling, in between his shallow breaths to which he was oblivious to until now. The tightening around his ankles were much more pronounced than that around his wrists.
