A life unwritten (a fictional story)
One rare day,
Lost in her thoughts I saw a girl,
With a bright smile & hairs with curl.
Biting on her nails God knows the reason?
“Been in love?” I asked
“Yes” she replied hastily.
“With how many people?” i asked with an interrogatory tone.
“I don’t remember really. I can count if you ask. But there will be someone missing in the list. I have fallen in love with people on train, bookshop, cafeteria and beach....
Huh heavy breath escaped throught my lungs. "Its fine I replied with a fake smile"
Oh am sorry,I forgot my manners, stretched out my hand..... I am similoluwa, I stay very close to the government resident, a rock hight sight away from here, its my seventh mouths in this city and honestly I haven't found any gorgeous lady around since I got here, I was just about to come into conclusion "Non never ever exist here" till I came out on a drive and meet you: (giggle) She shook back, saying I am "No one" and I don't disclose my identity to strangers. I stood dumbfounded, struggling to find words, her beauty won't let speak, I raved about her (glowing skin, dimple, gap teeth, dark eye, hairy skin) beauty. Then she left in her Range Rover (L405) 2019 model
Insulted and humiliated, I felt my tears threatening to spill over. I turned back and fled.
Upon returning home, with the insult fresh on my mind, I told myself, ‘I must make it in life too.’.
However, a few days later, it occurred to me that the lady was probably upset about something else and that maybe I had simply chosen the wrong time and date that day January 7, 2020. So for couple of weeks I have been visiting that same street with no doubtful mind "we will meet again". But till date I have never seen this lady shadow not to lady talk of her whole self.
I felt like i was in a Nollywood movie and was enchanted by the unexplained mystery of life. A few kind words and encouragement to myself; if I'd never met her, or perhaps I did not have a word with her or perhaps I never shook hands with her or perhaps the way I dressed ...... Many unanswered perhaps; It was a life unwritten experience for me
