We sweat, we fail.
A farmer’s Story

Inspired by Yashowardhan Mishra
Date: 10/1/2020

This poem realistically showcased the problems faced by the farmers at every point of time and eventually made them to end their lives.

Trenchant Sun and Dust, sometimes scurry rain,
Comes and goes, in vain.
He and upshot yield, uphold!
Nevertheless, the decision still bold.

Happy half wife, crown of his tribe,
Grant the sweat, and courage the effort to ripe.
Blood spilled, got scars, working on the ground,
Eventually simper, and please the crop around.

Tiny scion, born few years ago,
Tried hard, made hands in Dirt to go.
Last day, he rewarded to accompanied like trade folk,
To witness the abundance of pay-off.

Pleaded he, for elbow-grease,
Unaided farmer, destined to cease.
He doesn’t do math, his mistake,
Debt heavy and survival were at stake.

Marketplace urged him to pay,
For the possession he lay.
He amused and hilariously crying’
Is this my pay-off, why was I trying?

Tiny scion, he was still lost,
He doesn’t do math either, but sense the hoax to level worst.
Lost! whatever they out-turn
Tears and grief in glut, they won!
