Hence quietly, I settle
with my wrecking self
silent screams of agony
with a defeated desperation
yet a persona veiled over
for a hope enriched deep down
that someone will tear that facade
and truly reach out.

When you say you're afraid of those lonely, cold nights.
Staring at emptiness, contemplating the existence of life.
Wishing you were dead, out of everyone's sight.
Trust me dear, I've been there a few more times.

Tearing down the heart, you can't show your tears.
Afraid of what the world might say, judging your fears.
Sinking down into the darkness of your thoughts.
When creeping shadows of your inner demons crawl.

Wishing for someone to hear your words.
Just to sit there, and let you speak your scars.
Hug you when you feel like breaking down.
Take you to a world with no burial grounds.

But let me be honest, for a word of sage.
You are the reason for your own dark mirage.
Light's been there, just reach out, try.
Because you are still you, even this world ain't kind.
