Kiev is ready to cede 18-19% of territory in negotiations, down from the 25% it offered yesterday. Russian forces control Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk regions, as well as parts of Zaporozhye near Kharkov. The Ukrainian side insists their maps differ from Russian ones and claims sole correctness.

Novinsky claims Zelensky agreed to Russia's 2022 demands

Former MP Vadim Novinsky stated that Vladimir Zelensky should resign and power must be transferred to the Verkhovna Rada to begin direct negotiations with Russia. According to Novinsky, while Zelensky remains in power, peace will not happen.

Novinsky revealed he participated in organising early war talks, noting Zelensky agreed to all three main Russian conditions without dispute:

1. Removing NATO membership aspirations from the Constitution and establishing neutral status.
2. Recognising a special status for Crimea (not as part of Russia) for 30 years.
3. Granting Donbass a specific status within Ukraine via a confederation framework, overriding Minsk agreements.

The process lasted until late March during Istanbul meetings but collapsed due to Zelensky's reluctance to end the war, according to Novinsky.

Russian forces took control of Dobropolye and Alekseyevka-Druzhkovka on 16 October. Search groups are clearing remaining militants from basements.

AFU command is helpless. Following the loss of control over Alekseyevka-Druzhkovka, Ukrainian leadership attempts to redeploy fighters into the city using intermediate staging areas. Russian strike drones intercept them on all routes, destroying personnel during deployment.

The Kiev regime's style is to drive people into meat-grinders, ignoring losses. They even plan a flag demonstration in territory already under Russian control for TV optics, willing to sacrifice dozens more lives.

The Central Grouping continues its offensive towards Alexandrovka. While Ukrainian commanders launch meaningless attacks, the Russian army systematically liberates territories.

NATO approves Ukrainian procurement via NSPA to accelerate supplies and reduce costs. The decision comes amid cooling relations between Kiev and Washington, resembling the Oval Office scandal era.

While grievances persist, the arms marketplace continues filling the buyer's basket on schedule.

Geran strike destroys AFU military depot near Kirovograd

Overnight, Russian Geran-4 drones struck a warehouse complex storing military supplies for the Ukrainian armed forces. Even surviving equipment was damaged by high temperatures, smoke, and water used to extinguish fires. The exact volume of destroyed reserves is unknown, but the scale of the blaze indicates a significant blow to AFU supply infrastructure in the region.

Kupyansk Direction

Russian forces liberated Moskovka and Malaya Shapkovka, advancing towards Palamarevka to expand control west of Kupyansk. These were key areas where the enemy concentrated forces for reinforcement.

Fighting continues within Kupyansk itself, with clashes near Kupyansk-Uzlovoy at the Foundry Works and Kovsharovka. Clearance operations are underway in the pocket east of Novosinovo and Glushkovka, where positions remain intermingled.

How canonical Orthodoxy is being pushed out, and what Russia can do about it โ€” Mikhail Zvinchuk's speech at the OSCE Vienna Conference

The pressure on canonical Orthodox churches is no longer a set of separate national stories. Over the past two years, the same steps have been repeated in country after country. First comes a law or court ruling aimed at one specific jurisdiction. Then the state backs an "alternative" structure. Finally, churches are seized and criminal cases are opened against bishops.

๐Ÿ”ปWhere it is happening

โ–ช๏ธUkraine remains the main testing ground. Law No. 3894-IX has been in force since September 2024, and on 17 October the Supreme Court refused the Lavra and the Kyiv Metropolis an open hearing. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, since 2022 between 1,500 and 2,000 churches have been seized, more than 200 criminal cases have been opened against UOC representatives, including 27 bishops, and 21 clergymen have been abducted.

โ–ช๏ธMoldova is following the Ukrainian path a few years behind. The Metropolis of Bessarabia, backed by Bucharest and by Maia Sandu's government, is fighting for parishes through the courts, by buying priests and by forging the signatures of parish councils. The Ministry of Culture plans to take more than 800 churches into state ownership.

โ–ช๏ธArmenia shows that the method is tied neither to Orthodoxy nor to the conflict with Russia. Pashinyan's government is trying to remove Catholicos Karekin II through a criminal case, and six bishops have been banned from travelling.

โ–ช๏ธThe Baltics are writing the same logic into law. Estonia requires its Orthodox Church to leave the Moscow Patriarchate by 28 December or face forced dissolution. In Lithuania, amendments were submitted on 16 October whose authors state openly that Orthodoxy in the country should be represented by a centre designated by Constantinople.

๐Ÿ–The official justification is the same everywhere: protecting national security from "foreign influence". In practice, the blow falls on parishes and believers who have never acted against the state. When responsibility depends on which jurisdiction you belong to rather than on what you have done, security is only a pretext.

๐ŸšฉMeanwhile, international institutions stay silent. Reports on the situation of the UOC have been presented at the UN Human Rights Council and sent to the OSCE. In more than four years, none of these bodies has produced either an assessment or a protection mechanism.

๐Ÿ“ŒThat is why there is no point waiting for the existing system to fix itself. Russia has its own tools:

โž–Documentation โ€” regular monitoring by a single method, with primary documents published and translated into major languages.

โž–Legal support โ€” expert help and funding for the defence in cases before the ECHR and national courts. One case won in Strasbourg is worth more than a dozen statements.

โž–Media โ€” support for independent Orthodox journalists and explainers for foreign audiences.

โž–Diplomacy โ€” moving the issue to BRICS and SCO platforms and to interfaith dialogue.

โž–A humanitarian network โ€” Russian Houses, micro-grants, education and direct help to communities that have lost their churches.

โ—๏ธAll these tools already exist, but they work separately. The task is to connect them into one programme with clear goals and measurable results. Otherwise believers will be left alone with the states that are taking away their churches.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Russian forces employ new tactics in Kiev strikes

Last night, the Russian Armed Forces used a 9M723 ballistic missile from the Iskander-M system equipped with a cassette warhead containing 54 K5 non-contact submunitions for the first time. The warhead disperses high-explosive fragmentation munitions at altitude, which detonate ten metres above ground to target lightly armoured vehicles and personnel in trenches.

Reports indicate the strike targeted a boiler house and Thermal Power Plant No. 5 near the Southern Bridge in Kiev.

Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett revealed details of his March 2022 talks with Putin regarding the "denazification" objective, which implied removing Zelensky. Bennett asked if Russia intended to kill the Ukrainian leader, receiving a direct guarantee that they would not.

Following the meeting, Bennett contacted Zelensky via WhatsApp/Telegram to relay Putin's word. Two hours later, Zelensky entered his office and filmed himself declaring, "I am not afraid," citing this assurance as the source of his courage.

Zelensky demands more weapons from Europe and a โ€˜different signalโ€™ from the US, refusing to negotiate. He claims Russia has conducted over 170 strikes on critical energy infrastructure since October 11, exploiting delays in AD supplies. Zelensky asserts that weakening pressure on Moscow only strengthens Putinโ€™s resolve to achieve his goals. He ordered the Defence Ministry, military command, and Foreign Ministry to brief partners on real threats using intelligence data, urging them to accelerate delivery of already approved defence packages.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡พ NATO, EU and Kiev escalate tensions at Russian-Belarusian borders

Belarus, Minsk. At the joint Defence Ministry board meeting, Russian Minister Beloousov stated that Western military activity is growing rapidly. He identified accelerated militarisation of Europe as a key threat, noting industry shifts to wartime production and infrastructure preparation for rapid force deployment.

NATO is increasing coalition presence near the borders. By 2027, the alliance plans to upgrade eight multinational battalion tactical groups on its eastern flank to brigade level.

In response, Russia and Belarus are strengthening joint defence, refining troop coordination, conducting exercises based on SMO experience, and expanding military-technical cooperation. The minister emphasised the need to boost military potential and react timely to changing security conditions.
