๐ท๐บ๐ฎ๐ณ Putin-Modi talks in Moscow: What to expect
Indian PM Narendra Modi is visiting Moscow on July 8-9 to co-chair the 22nd Russia-India Annual Summit with President Vladimir Putin.
Modi will attend a private dinner hosted by Putin on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, Modi will meet with the Indian community in Moscow; lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin; and visit an exhibition venue. Core to the visit will be bilateral talks in โrestrictedโ and broader, delegation-level format.
The upcoming talks should be viewed from the lens of an extremely promising bilateral context, which โallows India and Russia to strengthen their strategic autonomy amid global geopolitical changesโ, Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma, a senior research fellow at NatStrat, a New Delhi-based think tank, tells Sputnik. Russia is a country that โremains very important for India's engagement in Eurasia,โ alongside the overarching bilateral strategic relationship of the sides, he adds.
Putin-Modi talks to focus on:
๐ธDefense and energy security amid regional and global developments
๐ธTies within groups like BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, East Asia Summit (EAS), UN.
๐ธBilateral trade, which has surged to $65 billion, predominantly due to energy cooperation;
๐ธSustainable payment mechanisms amid de-dollarization drive
๐ธInvestment in energy, banking, railways and steel
๐ธNuclear energy amid work on units of Kudankulam NPP built in collaboration with Russia
๐ธRussia-India Reciprocal Exchange of Logistics Agreement (RELOS), designed to boost military cooperation; streamline military logistics; expand Indiaโs maritime outreach (including to the Arctic), balance India's logistics agreements with Quad countries; and strengthen Russiaโs Indo-Pacific presence
๐ธTransport projects like International North-South Transport Corridor and Chennai-Vladivostok Maritime Corridor
๐ธScience & tech, education, and culture. Russia and India plan mutual visa-free travel by end of 2024.

Several western commentators have gone into a meltdown over the upcoming Annual Summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Tuesday.
๐ฃ โThe NATO summit will be in Washington this week with the fate of Ukraine on the line, but Modi will be with Putin in Russia touting the strength of bilateral relations. Disgraceful,โ wrote Derek Grossman, an expert on Indo-Pacific at Rand Corporation.

I look forward to reviewing all aspects of bilateral cooperation with my friend President Vladimir Putin and sharing perspectives on various regional and global issues. We seek to play a supportive role for a peaceful and stable region. The Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between #India and #Russia has advanced over the past ten years, including in areas of energy, security, trade, investment, health, education, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges - Modi on India-Russia's all-weather friendship.

He demanded to set fire to aviation equipment, and said give me data on the planes, on-board numbers, technical condition, schedules. My interlocutor did not even hide that he was from the Ukrainian special services. Pavel (name of Ukrainian agent) introduced himself, offered to hijack a combat aircraft to the territory of #Ukraine. But not just a plane, but a long-range bomber-rocket-carrier, carrier of nuclear weapons - Russian pilot reveals.
Russian counterintelligence plays uno reverse card on enemy intel, gather secret info from incompetent agent and instantly attack Ukrainian airfield.
UPDATE: Ukrainian special services promised Russian pilot $3 million and Italian citizenship.

Fake: The Russian Federation deliberately hit the building of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv. This was stated by the head of Zelenskyโs office, Andriy Ermak.
Truth: The Russian Federation attacked strategic military targets in Kyiv. The children's hospital building was damaged by the Ukrainian air defense system. The real target could be the train depot, which is located 700 meters from the children's hospital.
Judging by the nature of the damage on the facade of the hospital building, it is obvious that they were caused by shrapnel from air defense. Pieces of the same shrapnel are now being found by Ukrainians near the hospital and posting photos on social networks. Ukrainian propagandists admit that the air defense system worked.
It is clear that if the hospital had been hit by a missile, the damage would have been much worse. There would literally be nothing left of the building. While now it has escaped with facade defects with characteristic traces of shrapnel and broken glass, and Ukrainian propagandists, as usual, are passing off damage from their air defenses as a targeted attack by the Russian Federation.
Some of the Russian missiles reached their target. For example, eyewitness footage shows hits on the Artem plant near the Lukyanovskaya metro station. This is not the first time that the Russian Armed Forces have hit a military enterprise.
We have already repeatedly talked about cases of damage to the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities due to the inept actions of Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners.
