Your attempts to negotiate with Iran's clerical regime inadvertently legitimize their oppressive actions. After all these discussions you had with them, the regime, which was very scared and isolated, suddenly became emboldened again and started to resume the executions and threats against the Iranian people. Mr. President, Sustainable development is unattainable without democratic values. Why engage with terrorists?

Humanity has understood that stable economic relations with unstable partners are neither wise nor cost-effective. Development and a sustainable economy without liberal and democratic values ​​are like throwing dust in the eyes of the people. From this perspective, your attempt to deal with the ruling mullahs in Iran to establish business relations is an act against the Iranian people and not least against the American people. Even though you want to weaken the Iranian regime, you still give them a higher status when you convey to the outside world that you are satisfied with the mullahs in the two discussions you have had with them. You raise the credibility and legitimacy of the Iranian regime.

I have always believed that your approach is driven not by short-term gains but by long-term ethical considerations.
