Die nächste Wahrscheinlichkeit, die dazu addiert werden muss: Proteincorona (die nichts mit den PEGylierten Lipiden zu tun hat): Welches Protein schwirrt gerade zufällig bindungsfreudig rum?
Die nächste Wahrscheinlichkeit: Welche Zelle in welchem Zustand? Kommt es zum Payload release? Welcher Aufnahmeweg?: Rezeptor? Clathrin? Makropinozytose? -> Hängt von der Corona, und dem pH und pKa-Shape, Frachtverhältnis und auch der variierenden Größe ab.

Jetzt warten wir auf ein "halboffizielles" Review einer großartigen Mikrobiologin und danach entscheiden wir, wie viel wir davon noch integrieren wollen und dann wird endlich eingereicht. We’ve brought this beast to life (342 references strong). And when I look back at the original version, it truly feels like a patchwork quilt in comparison. What we have now is coherent, structured, mechanistically anchored, and intellectually honest.
The probability of even getting into review at APSB (IF 14) was, realistically, around 20%. And yet here we are! Submitting a manuscript that is orders of magnitude stronger than what we started with.
Whatever happens next, let’s take a moment to acknowledge the journey. Given the limited prior evidence (largely because hardly anyone has looked at these questions in a structured systems-level way) I genuinely believe we could not have done more to support plausibility. We worked with what exists. We built the framework carefully. We differentiated hypothesis from validation. We protected ourselves where necessary. And we did it rigorously.
I am endlessly proud that we found each other and shaped this into what it is now.
And even if APSB ultimately decides we’re not the right fit, I would not hesitate for a second to submit this elsewhere. In its current form, this manuscript would be above average for many other journals. It stands on its own.
Whatever the outcome: We did our job! And we did it well!
