This week, the Joint UK AMR Offer and LAFIYA AMR Project kicked off with a stakeholder meeting convening the NCDC, Federal Ministries of Health and Social Welfare, Livestock Development and Environment, UKHSA, and One Health partners.

Key priorities of the package include sustaining 10 human health sentinel sites, strengthening laboratory quality assurance and data generation, promoting antimicrobial stewardship, and improving AMR governance and subnational coordination.

The initiative will strengthen One Health collaboration, encourage domestic financing, and support the long-term sustainability of Nigeria’s AMR response.
